The Coronavirus, not the beer

A contagious disease is Exhibit A for externalities. When those are present, people can't internalize the risks they are exposing others to. A wise and mature libertarian will accept some state-mandated curtailment of liberties under those circumstances.
 
South Carolina has flown under the radar because it is not a big state and the raw numbers are not eye-catching. But it has the second worst outbreak right now after Arizona.

it should not surprise anyone a state is having outbreaks. All states will maybe save Hawaii and Alaska or the real remote states.

No one is getting what a pandemic really is. Not a lot you can do about them. We were on quarantine and cases were going crazy.

All testing does is confirm what you already believe.

There is a chance that 2 relative non-intrusive measures (in terms of effects on the economy) could make enough of a difference to put infections on a downward trajectory. Wearing a mask and closing bars. We might have to do more, but it is worth making a serious push with public buy-in on those two items.

Looking at outcomes from around the world, it seems to me that policy and public buy-in have made yuge differences. The United States is an extreme outlier due to poor policy, including poor and inconsistent messaging to the public.

These corrupt idiots though just pulled data and took down the cdc website though and makes me have my doubts about anything now on the data side if it goes through the White House first now
