The Coronavirus, not the beer

Trump chuckleheads are too invested to admit that he could be wrong. That would mean admitting that they were wrong about him and they'd rather follow him off a cliff before doing that. People are weak.

March of the Chuckleheads

“Trump supporters, please help me understand y’all...

This man told you the corona virus was a hoax, you cheered.

Then he told you all, it was gonna disappear in April, you cheered louder.

And then he told you it was serious, still you all cheered.

He told you masks were for freedom hating suckers, you cheered.

Then he told you the virus was gone and we need to reopen, and you all cheered.

He told you the reason we got more cases is because we test too much, you cheered.

He said it was safe to send your children to school, you cheered.

Now he tells you wearing a mask is patriotic, yet you’re still cheering.

Now he tells you, it’s gonna get worse before it gets better, still you’re cheering.

I know your brains are made of a single cell but if you all think hard enough, even you will understand YOU’RE the reason we have over 170 thousand dead people and counting. YOU all are the reason the US is the laughing stock of the whole world. You all are what’s wrong with this country.”

The opening night of the Democrats’ virtual convention was the beginning of a coronation for Joe Biden, but it was also a victory march for Andrew Cuomo, New York’s governor and a supposed hero of the coronavirus pandemic. “For all the pain and all the tears, our way worked,” Cuomo declared in his five-minute speech. “And it was beautiful.”

“Beautiful” is an odd way to describe a virus that has killed more than 25,000 New Yorkers, or about 15 percent of the total number of Americans who have died from COVID-19. But Cuomo has long been a curious leader for Democrats to hold up as an emblem of successful leadership during the pandemic: He has somehow presided over the worst and deadliest coronavirus outbreak in the country while eluding the widespread criticism that has surrounded both President Donald Trump and New York City’s Democratic mayor, Bill de Blasio.

In contrast to other prominent state and local leaders, Cuomo’s initial response to the coronavirus outbreak was slow and mistake-filled. He initially balked at issuing stay-at-home orders while cases mounted and then ordered sick elderly patients out of hospitals and back to nursing homes, where the virus spread like wildfire. But to the unending frustration of Republicans, the governor’s buoyant image has been a study in the power of public communication to overshadow policy failures: Cuomo’s detailed, candid, and often weirdly funny daily briefings became appointment television for New Yorkers stuck in their homes and for a national cable audience transfixed by a leader who, unlike Trump, was tackling the crisis head-on.

if "The media are full blown activists at this point."

no ****

been telling you for years that the highest rated shows from mainstream media at fox news is nothing but a political arm of the republican party

and you denied it

when did i say such a thing...Cuomo made his share of mistakes

I can cut him some slack on some mistakes because he was going it alone and being the guinea pig for the country. A unified and trustworthy flow of information from the CDC and the WH would've been useful.

South Korea with 297 cases, which is most since March 7. Still low numbers so little concern, but they're creeping up...

^^^ doesn't include today's 297

time and conditions are relevant in evaluating mistakes...but i think much of the Cuomo halo is due to the contrast with very poorly chosen back in March and April...a can of beans would look good compared to very poorly chosen one
