Some deaths per 100,000 data for states. First unadjusted, then adjusted to reflect differences with the mortality data for each state.

People don't realize how hard hit NJ was. It is the most densely populated state in the country (more densely populated than Japan!). Most of the states are in the Northeast. Plus Louisiana, which has suffered two waves of deaths. Mississippi and Arizona have been the ones who have moved into the top 10 based on the second wave.

Now for the adjustments. Some states (MA and RI for example) have done a great job accounting for Covid-related deaths and require no adjustments. Some havent. South Carolina and Texas are the worst, accounting for only half of the excess deaths. Others requiring a large adjustment include Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

Here are the adjusted numbers and rankings of the top 10 after the adjustment is made.

The Bronx has the highest percentage of people testing positive for new coronavirus antibodies out of all of New York City’s five boroughs, according to city data released Tuesday.

The data showed that a third of those tested in the Bronx were positive for the antibodies while Queens has the second-highest percentage rate at 28.2%. Brooklyn’s rate is 27.9%, while Staten Island and Manhattan have rates of 20.1% and 19%, respectively.

The percentage of positive antibodies correlates with the neighborhoods hit hardest by the coronavirus, according to the data.

Corona, Queens, where 446 people have died from the virus, is the New York City neighborhood with the highest rate of people testing positive for the antibodies at 51.6%, the data showed. In Borough Park, a Brooklyn neighborhood where the virus also took a heavy toll, 46.8% of people have tested positive for the antibodies.

Corona, Queens. Hold the puns. It is an overwhelmingly hispanic neighborhood.

Borough Park, Brooklyn has a large Hasidic population, another group that has suffered disproportionately.

next few weeks death per capita will rise in Spain and fall in the U.S...and we'll still be seeing many more deaths per capita in the U.S.
