The Coronavirus, not the beer

Jane Fonda is the epitome of what is wrong with the left. Just as bad as someone like Roseanne from the right.

Why? Until new laws are passed, both are entitled to their opinions and it doesn't matter whether you or anybody else agrees with them. I think the crazies serve a purpose by saying what a lot of people are probably thinking. Hearing it out loud can have a sanitizing effect.

Cognitive thinking declines with age.

Yes. This is what they think and this is how their actions have proven

I think it’s very misleading that she is referred to as a Biden surrogate. She like many others may be a supporter but surrogate implies that she is speaking on behalf of the campaign which she is not.

However I will say that the virus has shown the administration’s weaknesses but it’s a disaster and not a gift to anyone.

Disdain for expertise and competence has been part of the political ideology in a not insignificant part of right-wing circles for a while. The virus has been a "gift" in the sense of exposing the dangers of that ideology. It has definitely bit them in the ass (and unfortunately killed a lot of innocent people in the process). Expensive lesson from mother nature.

anyone with a brain knows that the smarter folks of the democratic party want as much pain as possible from covid bc they can blame the orange man (for some reason)

Its sad but it is reality.

this is ignorant of how "science" works

it is up for debate, vigorous debate, amongst people that know WTF they are talking about.
Not by reality TV personalities or paid PR firms or paid for by polluters shills ( yeah, Koch, BP, creationists etc etc etc )

Remember when "the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself" what aspirational and a message of hope.

I see our furious firefighters saying trumps message of covid is super dangerous and yes, we must be afraid

no, that was before my and your time

but to your point, that would have been a helpfull reminder in February announcing this **** was here and we had to deal with it
Which my history books tell me was FDR's tact

We of course know the government is not interested in expanding liberty for the people

The report seems like it was written by you and thethe it's so filled with the need to throw meat into the capitalism grinder.

"But common sense tells us that achieving herd immunity without an efficacious vaccine — even while isolating the most vulnerable among us, as the declaration proposes — will result in additional deaths. So invariably, the question we are confronted with is: How many deaths are acceptable in the drive to relieve economic suffering?"

No mention in it of the people who survive covid but with significant long-term health issues.

No discussion of how long immunity lasts.

Another day, another record for cases in the UK. The 17,540 today in the UK is 258 per million. 258 per million in the US would be 85,140. The US hasn't topped 80k to date, so the UK and France have both reported worse days in the last week than the US has to date.

Italy goes over 4,000 cases for first time April 12th.

The silence on this from the usual suspects is deafening

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell threw the White House under the bus Thursday when he explained the reason that he didn’t feel comfortable going to the White House for any events.

“I haven’t actually been to the White House since August the 6th. Because my impression was that their approach to how to handle this is different from mine and what I suggested that we do in the Senate, which is to wear a mask and practice social distancing,” McConnell said.

You're projecting your own morals onto others again.
