The Coronavirus, not the beer

sweet! Mandatory vaccine in order to participate in society. We should be so grateful!
A little different since TicketMaster is requiring this rather than government edict.

TM is in the business of getting people feeling safe at concerts again, so they’ll attend. This is an easy way to accomplish that.

I think you will see a lot of businesses adopt this, especially sports teams. IMO, this was all very predictable.

FINNISH twitter with a lot of good smack the last few days

SUOMI! SUOMI! SUOMI!

Anti-Swedish feelings have always been there in the other Scandinavian countries. But usually quiet. Lately its been busting out all over.

I don't get the refusal to wear a mask. Even if you don't think it helps at all, there is at least a chance it does. It's such an absolutely minor inconvenience that if it has any positive benefit at all then just from a cost-benefit standpoint you should do it. It's like someone giving you a free lottery ticket. Do you refuse it because you probably wont win and it would require you to check the numbers? No, you take it on that off chance it wins you some money.

I can understand not wanting to be forced to wear a mask in public, I just don't get reaching the conclusion yourself not to wear one.

It doesnt matter if it's the government if every business mandates it its effectively mandatory or else im ostracised from society.

I imagine sports, airlines, certainly schools will be next. You'll have to carry around papers to prove your not a leper

I always wear them but I think they are essentially useless. Itd be nice for the government to prove the effectiveness if they mandate we wear them

Ive stopped going to my gym bc they make you wear them and I cant breathe that well with them on.

I'm more concerned about how they have made us so willing to avoid our fellow citizens. Dont make ete contact... Dont speak etc. The mask is a constant reminder to avoid each other.

I'll add that in my exurb the mask is almost a requirement if you don't want people all up on you. The vast majority are not distancing in any way. Wearing a mask draws funny looks but most do respect the wearer enough to provide some space, even if it is often done sarcastically.

Lest we forget the price of having a malign clown for president:

and the direct descendent of liberate michigan:

attacks on common sense, leading to unnecessary deaths

attacks on something fundamental to our democratic system

I agree here. I have seen it with some of our gym goer's and are struggling with the mantra of no contact and its negative effects.

It seems to not be affecting kids much. They are taking in stride....so far.

its kind of interesting...people are learning to smile more with their eyes...that's the thing that a mask really messes with...a smile

FWIW, I'm not taking a mask from a stranger either. I have a whole bag in my truck and would hike back to get it or buy one.

The point is this thethe was refusing to wear a mask. Like the pandemic has been doing on since march. If you don't have them in your car you're a fool. If you aren't wearing on automatically, you're a fool. Him refusing on and not wearing one just goes to show his apathy towards his fellow man.

the crazy thing is you think this guy is a bigger problem than the thousands of people packed in DC celebrating an election result

Yes I think someone going onto public transportation without a mask is a big risk. While people congregating outside is infinitely safer than someone stuck for an extended period of time
