The city has set a threshold for positivity rate that would trigger going to remote learning. Getting close to it. Imo they should be focusing on bars and in person dining. The balance of evidence and cost-benefit considerations argue in favor of keeping schools open. Maybe have high schoolers do remote learning, but not the younger grades.
My son's HS did go to remote learning yesterday (we live in the suburbs). He did cartwheels when we got the text message. In his school's case, it is because of the number of teachers who are potentially exposed and have to quarantine. The plan is to resume the hybrid model after Thanksgiving.
I'm kinda happy about this because I think kids like my son are the main risk for exposing older family members during Thanksgiving. He's grounded for other reasons anyhow.

This will be no problem. Presidents (both parties) can blame their predecessor or take credit for what they did.
No mention of vaccines when the death rate continues to plummet.
It will go away once France elects a new leader

For starters he will actually attend the Coronavirus task force meetings and work with the qualified professionals on a plan. Maybe you like dealing with the plague based on hunchs of a man who thinks airports were used in the civil war but I dont.

The best opportunity we had to fight the virus was in January when Trump was saying we werent at risk, China was historically transparent and doing a fantastic job keeping the virus contained, and that this was all a hoax. I could give you a good list of things any competent person would have done better there. At this point Trump has poisoned the well with disinformation turning a pandemic into a political fight. The best thing Biden can do is work with the experts for a national plan. Unlike Trump he wont be feuding with the scientists and spreading disinformation or encouraging people to take drugs based off a hunch. Biden also has credibility with sane people when it comes to a vaccine. The only real benefit there was to Trump being in office during this pandemic is that he has the ear of the crazies on the right. If he had encouraged reasonable measures to fight the virus we wouldnt have the crazies on the right trying to kidnap governors and burn down capitols. A mask mandate by Obama would have set off the Sharia law crazies on the right.
