The Coronavirus, not the beer

The lockdown was a relatively short period. It was a quick answer to a problem that needed a quick solution to buy time. Telling people to "get healthier" is something we should've started doing years ago. I think we should start doing it now, too. Thinking it is the immediate solution to a literal pandemic, however, is just silly.

Closing gyms but keeping liquor stores opening certainly didn’t help.

Celebrating fatness doesn't help either. Stop telling people its healthy or beautiful or whatever. We don't do that for cigarettes or alcohol but we do for fat people. It makes no sense

LMAO what are you talking about?

No one ever beautifies smoking or drinking

Why is it hard for someone to buy chicken breasts at the supermarket and bake them with fresh vegetables?

No. I’m talking about my own life dealing with growing up without a mother. It wasn’t easy but it’s all about one foot forward.

Oh, okay. I was better trying to understand what you said. For the record, life being hard is not what depression is about. My life is WAY better right now than it was at the end of 2019 when I was in the depths of suicidal depression. Yet I still have depression. It is not about being sad. You can literally see the effects of depression in your brain. Same with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Plus, depression is different. Some people have depression from a result of a deficiency in serotonin, and that is the determining factor. For those people, anything that produces serotonin can actually help. SSRIs help dramatically. My depression is not just from that, so SSRIs do not help me very much. I'm pretty happy about that, because SSRIs have sexual side effects, and, well...**** that. lol The negative of it is that I can't just try to elevate my serotonin to feel better.

As is the case with obesity there will be a certain subset that will have difficulty overcoming it without medical intervention.

I’m glad you are in a better spot and your journey will only strengthen you in the future.
