The Coronavirus, not the beer

Japan, a healthy country with good medical infrastructure who masks quite religiously, still under 10,000 deaths, though the actual number is probably over that.

Golf courses or practice ranges never had to shut down.

Yeah we realized a week or two into the real lockdown there’s no reason golf should be shut down and they opened it back up.

Remember when we said "Trump wont be that bad, my life will still be the same". Would you say that's going well?

Clown post. Is life the same in say Italy and Germany? Is trump to blame for that? In the us, life is closest to back to normal in states in the south where it's mostly red.

He’s a loser who has no clue about anything.

Best to completely ignore his nonsense.

Gives drugs a bad name.

Bottom line is the US was always going to get hit hard because we have a tremendous amount of fat lazy people in this country.

Anyone saying otherwise is a hysterical fool.

If the left cared about the ccp virus at all this would have been the discussion but to them it was just a cudgel to beat Trump. No interest in actual lives as usual.

Maybe the lecturer can tell us obesity is not a big driver of mortality.

What is already known about this topic?

Messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to be effective in preventing symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection in randomized placebo-controlled Phase III trials.

What is added by this report?

Prospective cohorts of 3,950 health care personnel, first responders, and other essential and frontline workers completed weekly SARS-CoV-2 testing for 13 consecutive weeks. Under real-world conditions, mRNA vaccine effectiveness of full immunization (≥14 days after second dose) was 90% against SARS-CoV-2 infections regardless of symptom status; vaccine effectiveness of partial immunization (≥14 days after first dose but before second dose) was 80%.

——————

90% after two doses, but 80% after one

So again, why is our strategy to reserve 2nd doses rather than than getting twice as many people their first shot? We could’ve given twice as many people great protection versus half the amount of people excellent protection...would be that much closer to herd immunity while saving a lot of lives along the way

No room for critical thinking in our govt.

Plus they want this to last as possible

It's a perfectly reasonable question. When you run the projected final numbers, even that extra 10% could tip the scales toward herd immunity, depending of course on how many people get the vaccine. So, it would potentially have an immediate advantage that could ultimately make it all pointless. The numbers above, by the way, are quite different than the ones in the study. I believe Pfizer had 52% after the first shot and 95% after the second. We also have no concrete info on how effective one shot would be long term.

Many of us were saying this over a year ago.

Progressivism is a mental disease and should be treated as such moving forward.

Science actually shows only at risk people should get the vaccine.

Critical thinking is hard for sure.

Science absolutely does not show this in any way, shape, or form. Just stop it. You have no clue when it comes to this, and you show it over and over and over.

When the science shows you have a .01% (generous for many groups) chance of dying then that definitively is showing you don’t need a vaccine.

Much more risky activities that exist which are done on a daily basis.
