The Coronavirus, not the beer

Ok champ how do you plan on protecting them without isolation. Can't wait to see this big brained response.

For starters I’d never mandate anything. Everyone should make their own risked based decision.

But in reality we have the full infrastructure in place to support staying at home for these people. We could also suppprt businesses that employ the obese by providing incentives to allow work from home where applicable or some reimbursement of salary. This is of course with a mandate of exercise and commitment to a healthy life. I would never support someone who is an absolute drain to society with no intention of changing.

All of this would cost much less than the trillions of spending because our country is weak and can’t handle someone telling them you’re fat and you’re a risk to yourself and those around you.

Ok so you don't want to mandate anything. So say a nursing home employee could go out party all night in a crowded bar then go work in a nursing home. Or one person in the nursing home cares nothing about this and gets sick and passes the infection everywhere?

Your solution is to mandate diet and exercise? Are you ****ing high?

So basically you big brain protection plan was to do nothing. Care to show how that's going in Brazil?

This post is the clear evidence that you have no ****ing clue what you're talking about. Good day sir.

Another absolutely absurd post.

First we were talking about fat people staying indoors and then you switch it to nursing homes? Is everything ok at home man?

Obviously there are restrictions for people that have direct contact with seniors.

Hope everything is alright with you.

Using household disinfectants to treat Covid-19 has become a troubling issue during the coronavirus pandemic, which hasn’t been helped by President Donald Trump suggesting unproven remedies. At an April news conference, Trump wrongly suggested injecting disinfectant as a potential treatment, leading the makers of Lysol to release a statement saying "under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).” Trump also took a regimen of hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure against coronavirus, which was later shown to be ineffective against Covid-19.

I forget who the dumbass was that defended Trump and have been too busy to respond to his/her flimsy defense of an unthinkable since the middle ages remedy

but hey, the Middle Ages. Back when they knew their place

Hey idiot, you know who's more at risk than fat people? Old people.

You said you would mandate nothing. Maybe next time say what you mean to say because a healthy part of lock downs are the nursing home restrictions.

You used nursing homes as your counter. They are already “locked up” and of course those that make a living servicing them would be under mandated behavioral programs.

You’re reaching because you know the plans we discussed back in late March 2020 was the only logical appproach

Hope all is well.

If you want to reject the actual words used then you can live in that world.

I have some issues with hate crime laws just as a matter of legal philosophy. You have a fundamental right to be racist if you want. You can spew racist nonsense all you want as well. That is protected.

If you beat someone up in the street, you might be charged with some form of assault. If you beat someone up in the street while shouting racial slurs at them, you'll be charged with a hate crime and punished more severely. I don't like that. The same action was taken (beating someone up), but one person is getting punished more severely because of their belief and speech. I think it's a back door regulation of speech and belief.

I think hate crimes should be limited to situations where there is evidence of intent to intimidate a community. The intimidation of a community is something that I think could legitimately be punished. I just think some applications of hate crimes ventures into thought policing.

how about crimes that target an individual from a community such as beating an asian person while chanting "wuhan virus"

It would depend on the circumstances and whether it was done to intimidate a community. If you beat someone up because you hate them for sleeping with your wife or if you beat someone up because you hate the color of their skin, I think you should generally be punished the same. Premising your punishment based on the reasons for your hate is punishing because of the content of a belief. I don't like that. Punish them for beating someone up, not for beliefs or speech.

However, if the circumstances support a finding that there was an intent to intimidate a community, it changes things. You've essentially threatened an entire community at that point. I just think that needs to be a necessary element of hate crimes.
