The Coronavirus, not the beer

Fwiw, I am very much not wearing my mask anymore. I had been wearing it in the grocery store down the street from me because they required it- and I still usually have one in my pocket in case a business requires it- but I'm never wearing it otherwise.

I'm confident that there are many people who aren't vaccinated who have decided to stop wearing masks and will help covid to stick around longer than it should (just like they helped it to do as much damage as it has done), but I'm happy to rarely think about it anymore from a personal risk or personal transmission standpoint.

You would be right if masks made a difference.

They don't. They are theater

One thing I will say is that even though I'm vaccinated, I will always honor the request of a business to wear a mask inside. I'm a big believer in private property rights and if a business asks me to wear a mask if I come inside I'll take one out and wear it. They have the right to put conditions on my entrance and I'll abide by them. If I find the condition to onerous, I wont go. But I don't find wearing a mask to be very burdensome.

I'll ask again: can you share the data around the ineffectiveness of masks? I know Rand says they are theater, but quite a bit of data has been shared about their effectiveness, both in terms of efficacy in preventing droplet spread and in terms of epidemiological studies that have shown their effectiveness in real-time during the pandemic.

If you don't believe me, at least listen to trustworthy American Patriot Steve Doocy: https://bit.ly/3vSaepT

Or...read? The first link has a table with 15 epidemiological demonstrations of efficacy, including the one Doocy mentions above.

Yes. Masks are good if an infected person comes up and coughs in your face

Epidemiological studies! Hahahaha

Believe us! Masks work for asymptomatic people.

What a joke people still believe this nonsense. There is no actual studies which show masks help prevent spread for those that aren’t symptomatic. Causal relationships prove nothing and sturg has done a great job showing analysis how it means nothing in a real world setting.

There has been ONE study done with an actual control group that concluded no effectiveness. The rest of them are purely conjecture

The ruling class was able to completely shut down a narrative of the president of the United States because it made them look bad. Is everyone comfortable with that?

I feel like you must be dense?

How many people need to tell you that pre-symptomatic spread is a problem?

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/27/4/20-4576_article

In this cluster of COVID-19 cases, little to no transmission occurred from asymptomatic case-patients. Presymptomatic transmission was more frequent than symptomatic transmission. The serial interval was short; very short intervals occurred.

Again, I personally have experience with this as I was around no one when I was symptomatic, but my girlfriends parents got it.

I feel like you’re dense as well.

There are no scientific studies which show masks prevent this type of spread.

You just said

"There is no actual studies which show masks help prevent spread for those that aren’t symptomatic."

So what you're saying is that there's no evidence, but honestly there is evidence. Again, why did the countries who're used to dealing with these kind of respiratory infections do so well if masks don't work?

That’s easy. There has been work to show that prior exposure to previous corona viruses help combat the ccp virus. And then you have the same murky reporting responses that you get with places like Brazil/India when it fits your narrative. Well that same questionable data can also impact this.

Bottom line is there is no support to show that masks prevent non droplet spread.

Never forget the sociopaths who supported these measures

It's weird how you obsess over the unarmed trespassers that one day but aren't bothered by locking human beings in their home for over a year
