You understand that droplets don't only come from coughing and sneezing, right? Like others here, I've seen transmission among family members and friends from asymptomatic people who they rode with on a long car ride or shared a dinner table with.
When you talk, sing, shout, or even breathe, you produce droplets. If you have COVID, those droplets can infect others. As you've accurately pointed out, masks prevent droplet spread. Ipso facto, masks are effective.

They moved to weekly reporting because normal people don’t care about a strong flu when a vaccine is available to protect the at risk.
But I’m guessing you didn’t even read the first few lines of the article you posted.
Such a low amount of droplets come from that that there is effectively no impact of mask wearing. Again, in a moment of honesty the supposed leading virologist in the country with decades of experience in this area said that masks were not useful in stopping this type of spread. How you’re even arguing this is beyond me.
I guess we should also stop that spontaneous singing people do in crowded areas. Crazy that these are the arguments now.
Just face it. You mask cult people were wrong. Universal masking should never have been implemented and I’ll sadly be looking out for the studies in a few years of the damages done to children to make them wear something so obstructive in their formative years.

You said they quit reporting data like cases etc (which means deaths/hospitalizations). You realize that overall that’s wrong right? Are you unable to see that or can we just state the obvious and you read the Twitter headline and thought that’s what’s happening.

The claim by the author is that "excess follows deficit" when it comes to mortality.
And yet if you look at other recent "deficit" years (2014, 2010, 2006, 2004) they are not followed by high excess deaths.
I guess this is what passes for "analysis" these days from the folks who still think Sweden did well compared to their peer group of neighbors.
Sad.
Those years were small deficits and followed by a year that was at the expectation or a little more. There is never multiple deficit years in a row. The most recent flu year prior to covid was a massive deficit so it’s reasonable to assume we should have a catch up.
You know this but you’ll still dig into your ideological holes despite being consistently wrong.

I'm simply pointing out that there is no pattern or tendency for deficit years to be followed by high excess death years. Not even if you squint. Really hard. Not even if you torture the data. Zip. Nada.
Typically what follows a deficit is a “normal” or excess year. Therefore, one would reasonably assume the year following the largest deficit by far in twenty years would be a large excess.
That’s just a basic assumption and not torturing anything. I understand in today’s age we aren’t supposed to believe what’s in front of our eyes but I think this one is safe.
