Very low cost intervention that has some efficacy. And the benefit mostly accrues to other people. Wearing it is an act of altruism and good for the soul.
The cost/benefit doesn't make sense to me to not wear them. It's like turning down a free lottery ticket. Even a small chance of benefit outweighs the cost. The same is true with masks. There's essentially no cost and a small chance of benefit.
I actually like wearing a mask because it allows me to talk to fewer people.
