The Coronavirus, not the beer

There are still people who believe masks are not useless

For the record, I think mask mandates are pointless as they're almost impossible to enforce. That being said, the conclusion here is terrible. So many differences not controlled for. Differences that would be almost impossible to control for.

Yes as we determined there will never be enough to convince you

It's pointless to argue on masks. When Japan had covid whipped, it was their culture of always wearing masks to prevent respiratory illness. Now that it's hitting them hard, it'll be no discussion at all or the Japanese just quit wearing masks like they were or similar

People just want to ignore the obvious. Fauchi before the hyper politicization of the virus said cloth masks. Biden’s own covid advisor said the same. No studies show that they prevent aerosol spread.

It’s straight up mystifying how anyone thinks masks make any impact at all.

The Delta variant is more contagious and mainly increasing in Japan in areas of dense population. Masks, washing hands and social distancing stops spread. It's been said from the beginning.

There's also a simple psychological effect to wearing masks. They help remind people that there's a pandemic about and to stay vigilant with the basic protocol. Americans enjoy more freedom than anyone on the planet but can't seem to buckle down for anything serious.

Then why haven't they worked?

Probably the best way to find out if mandates have an effect is to compare jurisdictions that are similar is other ways. For example, say 3 neighboring counties in Arizona with similar demographics, density, similar infection rates before the mandate, etc. One has a mandate and the others don't. Which one has lower deaths per capita in subsequent weeks and months. Or two similar states. Say North and South Dakota. With enough such comparisons, it might be possible to come up with an estimate of the effect of mandates.

Its legitimately adorable that the lecturer lectures us on masks with literally zero evidence, data, or legit studies to support.

Here we are again... bringing back the masks that are nothing but theater... that fauci admitted to before going back on, then admitting to again before going back on again

A Florida woman gave birth while battling Covid. She died days later.
“She never got sick, and we assumed like many people that this would just go away just as quickly as it came,” her uncle said.

“She never got sick, and we assumed like many people that this would just go away just as quickly as it came,” he said. “Because with a lot of younger people — she was only 30 years old — that she would breeze through it and be back taking charge of life.”

I still maintain that public officials should use whatever juice they have left (and it ain’t much) trying to convince the vaccine hesitant (the ones who can be reached) to get vaccinated. It’s the one intervention that has clearly worked as far as reducing the risks of serious illness and death. There’s just not enough bang for the buck elsewhere, IMO.

“It’s not subtle by any stretch,” lead study author and Brown University associate professor of pediatric research Sean Deoni told the Guardian of the trend. “You don’t typically see things like that, outside of major cognitive disorders.

Authors attribute the pattern to children being cognitively impaired from spending so much time inside with overwhelmed parents during the past year. While many adults have managed to tough it out, so much isolation at a critical juncture in the mental progress of infants has likely caused lasting damage.

Want to talk about externalities?

Masks and lockdowns destroyed a whole generation of children. This was so obvious.

As has been in the past on numerous occasions. Lockdowns and masking will end up being one of the worst decisions in human history.

And one last obvious factor you ask of these moronic policies?

Children from less financially secure families were impacted the most, researchers noted.

So as usual, the leftist push, and sadly some conservatives, end up screwing the economically disadvantaged. I predict this will be another form of racism in the future.

Lol how does one conduct an iq test on a baby? That’s a serious question. Also, you failed to mention this piece of information from the article. Buried at the bottom “… according to the not-yet-peer-reviewed findings published Wednesday.”

LOL - Peer reviewed.

There was a peer review study that showed the CCP virus could only have been naturally occurring and the lab leak was an absurd conspiracy theory.

Keep believing sheep.

Are you going to answer how an iq test is administered to a baby? And if tests where given who provided these tests? How was the data gathered? Who analyzed the data?

I mean I’m conducting a non-peer reviewed, single-blind study of dumbass thethe comments as we speak and my data is overwhelming. I’m willing to bet if I provide my findings to the Post they’ll also write an article, it’ll get tweeted out, and then I can post it here.
