The Coronavirus, not the beer

Data from the Georgia Dept of Health on Breakthrough Cases. While interesting, I think the picture is incomplete without comparable data on the unvaccinated.

I remember when Kentucky made it illigal to attend drive in Easter church service and reported license plates to the DOH.

Zito and the lecturer didn't care because they weren't in those cars

People at the Oklahoma statehouse protesting against vaccine mandates. Someday we will look back on this the same way we look back at the NY Times op ed on drinking and driving or French restauranteurs protesting against the "tyranny" of cops enforcing drunk driving laws.

The comp is so stupid I assumed it was 57 making it

You don't need to drink and drive in order to exist in society

But of course this isn't about public health and all about controlling free people... So the lecturer is enthusiastically supportive

The parallel holds. People can drink. But they society is entitled to discouraging certain activities while they are drunk.

Similarly with contagious diseases there is a long history of society requiring vaccinations with respect to school attendance, service in the military and working in certain professions.

If a college wants to require its students to be vaccinated, it is a reasonable policy in light of how closely students live together in dorms. The students who object can find something else to do.

The comp of making a law that says you can't drive on roads while drunk, vs making a law that you cant travel or shop or workout or cross state lines unless you take a medical treatment...

Is so stupid I'd assumed it was 57 making it

If flying commercial is restricted, people have alternatives such as walking, bicycling and driving. They will experience some inconvenience but they also won't be spreading covid as much.

Ditto for restrictions on eating at a restaurant. No one will starve. A kind neighbor will collect groceries if it comes to that. Plus of course you can order that it be delivered. Again some cost and inconvenience will be born by those who choose not to vaccinate. But against that much be weighed the benefit of their not spreading covid as widely. Btw I kind of doubt that anyone will find it too difficult to go grocery shopping. But if they incur some minor inconvenience, well that won't be keeping me up at night. It is their choice after all. And I fully respect their right to make that choice. Just as I respect a business' rights to make rules that safeguard their customers.

You really don't have to continue posting how much of a wannabe tyrant you are. We all know.

I do wonder though is there some sort of criteria we will be following about what mandates we can justify.

We can be certain it won't stop at covid so what are the next mandate we will impose on people. How many deaths does the mandate need to avoid?

The rhetoric is escalating and getting more frequent
The tyrants can't resist their list to control and punish dissent

I respect your right and the right of others to protest peacefully against these mandates. Just make sure y'all do it in tightly packed quarters indoors with little air circulation. Make sure y'all yell loudly for your rights and expel a great deal of air. And no violence or crimes against property please.

Your phone autocorrect can't even decipher your insanity.

Except both put people at risk. If that person paddle boarding gets in danger, he's putting the person rescuing him at risk. Like seriously you're so dense it's sad. He wasn't arrested for paddle boarding he was arrested for refusing to comply with a lifeguard when they told him the beaches were closed and he needed to return to shore and didn't do it for half an hour or until police got involved. Which is what happened. Someone didn't want to follow the rules and people are acting like it's unconstitutional. Which it isn't. Where I live there's constant don't hike after dark. If someone does that and gets arrested/fined is that TYRANNY? If I want to jaywalk but cars don't let me is that TYRANNY?

I’m not sure when the narrative turned, but it was inevitable we were all gonna get this.

Flattening the curve turned into lockdowns prevent infection. Which isn’t true.
