The Coronavirus, not the beer

Thousands and thousands of illegal aliens being released around the south with about 18% carrying Delta probably was the biggest factor.

Zito already said this wasn't true and I proved him wrong.

He will conveniently forget.

Yep. And then vacationers fleeing to beaches to get out of the Covid hot spots who ended up bringing it with them.

Without caring enough to look it up, I would say demographics, smoking rate, and obesity.

But if Vitamin D was such a strong indicator wouldn't it have gone further in preventing massive deaths? That's the question no one is asking. I get Northern Climates in winter. FOr example around here monday the high was 15 with about 20 MPH winds, which means frostbite sets in around 30 mintues so even going outside, most of your skin is covered.

Man I'm outside exponentially more in the winter than during the rest of the year. How much time have you spent in GA in the summer? There are days I lose ten pounds of sweat just mowing and trimming the yard.

That's not a real excuse. I've been in the south in the summer, I know it sucks. But it's nto actually dangerous, wear sunscreen, drink water, eat a banana, you won't die. It's not an actual hazard like extreme cold, it's an inconvenience.

Man people die from heat stroke.

Guy I played football with got brain damage from getting over heated at practice

Also vit D isn’t the only one prescribed when sick. A,c, d and zinc . He doesn’t even know he’s being willfully obtuse

Should have drank more water. While it's not close to the south, I did 2 a days in 90+ heat in NJ. There were kids who started suffering some heat stress syndromes, sat in the shade, drank some water went from there. Those of us who were smarter would stash water bottles with ice water to regulate our temp better than the drinking spigot.

in that heat you can’t drink it and absorb it faster than you sweat it out

After 3 days there not much keeping up

Yeah, don't really buy that. If they can play Soccer in Brazil in the heat they can do almost anything. Consider the Badwater 135 where they run from Death Valley in July and run 135 miles to Whitney Portal.

The heat in the south is different. I've been to Vegas when it's 100+, and it's more bearable than Mississippi in the 90s. The humidity here is awful in the summer

Do you not think Brazil is not super humid? Don't get me wrong, I get what you mean, South is too hot. But being too hot isn'ta reason to go outside.

May not be a good reason, but it is a reason. Covid ran wild in the south during summer bc everyone ran inside under the AC. It wasn't running wild bc everyone was outside.

Yeah this was my point. Certainly people can survive outside, landscapers do it. The issue is that most of us walk outside and say hell no, and get back in the AC as soon as possible. That ramped up Covid transmission.

Separately and related, it contributes a lot to obesity as well. I have friends from the Bay area who moved here. The wife gained 40 lbs the the first year because they stopped taking their afternoon walk due to the climate.
