That article was odd. It talked about how masks don't work and basically said they shouldn't be worn. Then it said people with active COVID infections should wear mask as the evidence is strongest for masks preventing an infected person from spreading COVID rather than protecting a masked person from getting it. It also noted half of infected people have very mild to no symptoms.

One uncomfortable point people haven't wanted to talk about with masking is that the main reason experts recommended masking was to prevent infected people from spreading. Particularly people with mild symptoms who might not know they have COVID.

People also need to think about the situation. Masking is going to do almost nothing to prevent a kid from spreading it to their classmates or an office worker from spreading it to coworkers. The exposure time is too long. But that infected person in front of you in line at Target? Both of you masking could be the difference between transmission there.

For the record, I've been against mask mandates the whole time as I don't find them enforceable and think property owners should generally have the choice of what to require of people coming onto their property.

since I know you don’t watch 60 minutes, they actually did have another story like this during the pandemic.

I have it dvr’d every week. They did talk about this previously. And long term Covid.
