All efficacy attributed to the vax was just natural immunity that wasn't tested (as I said repeatedly) by researchers.

The vaccine was a massive dud and it was obvious that healthy people should never have touched it.

Lumping in everyone over 18 is a terrible way to judge effectiveness. Covid is going to hospitalize and kill the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions that make them more vulnerable way more than young healthy people. Elderly and sick groups also have insanely high vaccination rates. The younger and healthier you get, the lower the vaccination rates are.

It's quite likely that an unvaccinated 28 year old is much less susceptible to severe Covid than a vaccinated 85 year old. That's not a good comparison though. How are vaccinated 85 year olds doing against unvaccinated 85 year old. How are healthy vaccinated people in their 30's doing vs healthy unvaccinated people in their 30's.

There are also other problems with the data. Some of which are mentioned in the abstract. The only real conclusion that could be made from this study was that the hospitalization and deaths among the elderly were so high as to reemphasize the importance of safety measures for these groups.

Two days after outside experts voted in favor of a new vaccine adapted to protect against omicron, the Food and Drug Administration announced that the fall shots would include a component from BA. 4 and BA. 5, the omicron subvariants currently gaining ground in the United States.

It is quite possible that BA. 4 and BA. 5 will be eclipsed by new variants by the fall, but the hope is that a new shot will help broaden immunity, since they are closer to where the virus is today.

Like why just straight-up lie? It just makes things worse. The message "Getting the vaccine will help lessen symptoms" should have been good enough. It's what was pushed at the beginning before it became highly politicized.
