The Debates of 2020

Joe has been running a 4th quarter offense for months now. He won’t answer with any substance. The closest he’s come to answering a question about court packing is a cop out about putting together a commission to study the issue.

IMO, this is a problem with Biden and other moderate democrats. The party would be better off if it were more like Bernie and AOC and were more transparent about their policies and intentions.

Its fair to say he is dodging the court question. Frustrating to me as well. I want him to but doubt he will. He really doesnt have the balls for something like that. I get the sneaking suspicion Trump will. If he actually knew he could from the start I think he would have already. In a second term theres very little reason for him to hold back on anything. I have no doubt in my mind it would be cheered by the "right" and they would highlight it as a crowning achievement.

I supported Bernie but I think in the context of this election Biden was/is the best candidate to beat Trump. Biden is a status quo candidate. People generally loathe status quo candidates. After these last 4 years I think a lot of people just want to go back to that normal. I was leading the charge telling anyone who would listen about the growing anti-establishment movement in the country. I think Trump has killed that for any outsider in the near future. Theres a lot of things about AoC that are a breath of fresh air in politics but its going to be a mistake if she ever leads the party in any way. She is the new Hillary Clinton for the right.

Did you miss the questions about China, NK, Russian, and Iran?

They asked about compromising financial interests.

I didnt hear much about the war on terror... Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.

We know Biden is a war monger so would like to know where he stands there these days

Trump getting Biden to say he wants to end the oil industry was a big win. .

For whom ?

This isn't new, (D) has been running on ending oil dependence sooner rather than later since the 1980's.
Note that Reagan removed the solar panels from the WH in 1980.

The other side of the coin would be Biden strengthens the get out the vote of the left wing of his party

We are trending away from fossil fuels
Not at all a controversial stance unless one recently receives a half a billion dollar windfall from .... fossil fuel industry
and another one takes Trump at his word.

It was Trump last night that pounced on Biden's statement replying wait until " Texas Oklahoma ..."

biggest whopper last night for me was the claim that only 1% (and the lowest IQ people at that) of people released under catch and release come back for their court dates

i believe the number is 75%

75% aint a great number and imo can be used to make a good case against catch and release

but i guess the truth shouldn't get in the way of a sexier narrative

87% dont show up based on a DHS analysis as recently as a year ago.

But im surprised you consider this the biggest whopper when biden said that nobody lost their private plan under Obama care and he was never against franking.

Anyhow 1% is a sexy number I guess. Don't know if he actually believes it. At this point I'm stopped caring about the pathological roots of his lies and disinformation. Enough of the country has tuned out to them to ensure he's gonna be history January 20.

Trump should have offered to pardon Biden last night and then maybe the truth would come out lol

I think that was what the camps agreed on initially and then then commission decided to just make things up as they went along.

i'm pretty sure the rules give the moderators complete authority in choosing the topics and questions...Chris Wallace said something to that effect

I believe that to be the case, but thought the commission had some say so. I just don’t care for the same questions to be asked of the candidates a month gap.

Seems to me the commander and chief should be asked about some foreign policy issues, no?

We know Biden is a champion of Iraq war? (And every war)

Does he still think we should be there? If not, when will he bring our troops home?

Nah... gotta ask about climate change!

Shouldn't biden have to answer for the blunders of his 8 years as VP on the foreign arena?

The peace breaking out in the middle east is avoided by the media at all costs right now.
