The Endless Stats Thread

I don't want to get into the overrated/underrated debate (and J.C. Bradbury would come in here and rhetorically kick my butt), but I think Roger has actually done more with less than Leo Mazzone did. And that's not saying Leo didn't have to cobble things together during his time in Atlanta. It just seems that McDowell always has a bag of question marks waiting for him every spring.

In another matter, I was thinking the other day when I saw Ian Desmond had notched his sixth error whether or not anyone had ever gotten to 10 errors in a season faster than anyone has gotten to 10 HRs. I'm sure someone has done it (the fielding is much better and the scoring more lenient now then in earlier eras). Pujols and Desmond are tied right now with 8 HRs and Es respectively.

To my defense I was very drunk. Guys sitting next to me found out I was in the army and deploying in a few weeks and kept buying me beer. I did not sleep with any of them in case anyone was wondering.

What happened to that guy on the other board who was always talking about his drinking/drunk exploits? What was his name.........?

I count 2/28 possible threads that should have been surfed into the Endless Summer of Stats thread, for a 0.071428571428571 failure-average—but let's see if we can ride this wave as well as Fredi rides the walrus.

Since Roger joined the Braves in 2006 the Braves have had a 3.77 ERA which is 2nd best in baseball over that span.

I still remember arguing with so many people back then that Roger was good at his job.

All we would hear, "BUT HE RUINED EDWIN JACKSON!"

Where are all those posters now?

Roger is going to get hired as a manager in the next year or two. It will be a great loss.

Braves need to open up the purse to keep him. If he is somewhat leery at all to go all out manager then money will talk. If he wants to be manager well then there isn't much that can be done.

Didn't we do that when the Phillies made a run at him.

To be fair, he wasn't able to turn Paul Maholm into a draft pick fetching SP, which someone on here kept assuring us he would

He shall remain nameless, but I remember a poster who was convinced Maholm would be worth the qualifying offer, but that the Braves should lock him up for three or four more years about this time last season.

We've scored 4th lowest amount of runs in the majors, but still maintain the 3rd highest run differential, the top 2 being 2 of the top 4 offenses in the majors.

Pitching has certainly been the difference between us being 2nd best record in the bigs, and middle of the pack.
