The Hawks owner selling his stake cause of "racist" email...

is really dumb

if he wants to sell his stake

he could just do that

I'm really not sure what was racist about it. What I read was an email about marketing where he was concerned that a group he'd like to be part of his target market was not coming to games because the game atmosphere did not appeal to them. Middle aged white guys don't like listening to hip hop downtown in what they would perceive as an urban environment. Also he was having a hard time selling enough tickets. He just wanted to find ways to bring them in. If he had said young black men didn't want to be at an arena with a bunch of middle aged white guys listening to country music would that be racist? I don't think so, and it's basically the same thing.

Demographic markets exist, and sometimes they don't like the same things. You have to be aware of that if you want to make money in business.

I have no problem with the email. Middle aged white guys aren't a big audience of the NBA anyway.

I think he saw how much Sterling got for the Clips, and wanted to jump ship and get a lot for his stake in Hawks.

Let get this straight. People are offended because he stated that a non black player had some African in him because he is good at a sport that is something like 70% black in a country where they make up about 12% of the population? That seems more like a complement to black people and an insult to non black players.

Maybe someone should link the commish to the video of white people in the minority getting attacked. I would like to see the commish take a walk down some streets in Atlanta where blacks are the majority without protection and see how he feels like after that.

No regular white person is stupid enough to walk through the ghetto's of Atlanta or Oakland alone. Pretty much everyone, liberal or not, has those fears.

Yet the second you vocalize those fears, you're considered a racist. It's hypocrisy at it's finest.

That is not at all what he stated.

That was in a scouting report of Deng which led to the investigation. What he said in his emails was stereotyping and it wasn't wrong.

The definition of racism is the irrational hatred based on race. I don't see how any of this falls under that definition.
