The NOT August 12 2017 Gamethread

I love what AA has done trade wise. It's just the flaherty head scratcher that is keeping me from being thrilled with AA

Yeah the only criticism I can levy against AA is the lack of a left handed infielder pickup. Thats it. Everything else has been great in my opinion. Even the Duvall deal. Yeah he isn't playing great right now, but he has upside and could be a great bench bat for us moving forward.

According to BP yesterday's game boosted the Brewers playoff odds by 6% and cut ours by 7%. Shows you how big these games against the other contenders are at this point of the season.

This is as big a win as we've had this season. Taking 2 of 3 against the Brewers is yuge.

Plus its a nice boost to get a series win at home. While we've been a great road team, we've been fairly mediocre at home this season. Hopefully this bodes well for a nice homestand

I don’t know what’s more enteraining...

Watching a good Braves team, or reading the wide range of emotional swings by folks with no capacity for rational thought haha.

Our next 17 games are against the Marlins (8), Rockies (4), Pirates (3), and Rays (2)... We should be able to win at least 11 of those. The Rockies and Pirates are solid, but very beatable and the Rays/Marlins are not good at all. I feel like this upcoming stretch is our best chance for the rest of the year to gain some ground on the Phillies.

Their next 17 are the Red Sox (2), Mets (5), Nationals (6), Blue Jays (3), and Cubs (1). I think that is a tougher stretch than what we have coming up. Hopefully we can take advantage and the Phillies go on a bit of a slump.

The Rays were 3 games over .500 heading into today. And that’s playing in the AL East. They’re not a bad team at all. This is going to be a tough stretch for the Braves.

the nervous nellies and jumpy jennies are a never ending source of entertainment

Our pen is in ok shape for the DH. Brach has pitched consecutive days. I would try not to use him. Ditto for Jackson who went multiple innings today.

That's not an easy stretch, Rays arent bad, and if Braves get to face Snell, that's gonna be a tough one, he's as good as anyone.
