The Obesity Thread

undoubtedly

some of the guidance coming from the white house on bleach and hydroxychloroquine was dodgy at best

Bleach was fake news as it was never said in the context that you like to push.

HCQ works and there were numerous studies that evidence that.

Diet doesn’t need to have government intervention.

The info is there people who don’t want to see it or find it won’t

It all starts with the mindset.

Most people if they ate enough protein in a day wouldn’t snack at all because it’s work getting enough protein to maintain and build muscle. It would be miserable.

It’s all out there and it’s all free .

You can measure and weigh your food for the zone diet for 2 months, and then you don’t need it anymore . You understand portions and sizes by then.

Poor health is a choice (in almost all situations)

Its a shame we as a society have to pay for others poor choices.

I still can't believe my entire childhood was public schools telling me the healthy diet was based on food pyramid built on grains

Hard to believe how we got so fat over the decades.

The experts were wrong i guess

I think over the 80s there was a push for more wrapped and preprocessed foods and canned drinks. Lot of people shipped their foods longer distances to keep up with demand and in turn changed the way it was consumed. Processed foods are basically a highway to diabetes and HBP. Tons of sodium in both.

Shopping at the outside of the grocery story except for certain items will help you immensely. If it can go bad, its probably fine to buy and consume.

take a look at who developed the food pyramid that has guided our diets since the 1930's

in other words, follow the money

Abstract
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's 1991 withdrawal of its Eating Right Pyramid food guide in response to pressure from meat and dairy producers was only the latest in a long series of industry attempts to influence federal dietary recommendations. Such attempts began when diet-related health problems in the United States shifted in prevalence from nutrient deficiencies to chronic diseases, and dietary advice shifted from "eat more" to "eat less." The Pyramid controversy focuses attention on the conflict between federal protection of the rights of food lobbyists to act in their own self-interest, and federal responsibility to promote the nutritional health of the public. Since 1977, for example, under pressure from meat producers, federal dietary advice has evolved from "decrease consumption of meat" to "have two or three (daily) servings." Thus, this recent incident also highlights the inherent conflict of interest in the Department of Agriculture's dual mandates to promote U.S. agricultural products and to advise the public about healthy food choices.
