the suggestion is to listen to scientists and actually do something. the pope saw it and spoke, i am curious when R's will do the same

I just don't understand why you're invoking the opinion of the Pope - unless you think the government should take his advice on all issues? I don't see the relevance of the Pope's opinion. Perhaps you can help me understand

i'm tying a religious leaders view to the ask a question to the republican party members

if you don't understand why i would do such a thing, not really sure what to tell you since it seems you are blind to the religious leanings of that party

The point he was Makin sturg is the R's have fought a public battle over warming saying the science is not settled or they don't need to trust scientists. Or that they take orders from god. Well here is a hugely influential religious leader whom was also a scientist as well that says we need to take action. If religious conservatives still can't take someone as religiously influential as the Pope seriously then they won't ever unless god shouts from the heavens to do so (which you and I know will never happen).

I personally am in favor of abortion more because of population control. We're lucky to not have a huge population as China or India where resources will be scarce soon.

And I am not a religious person and haven't been one for a decade now.

I was just wondering if scientists' opinions should be the final opinion on all issues.

Didn't scientists in the 70s predict a new ice age?
