The Return--or maybe to be more accurate--the restart of Chop Country Radio!

WELL, SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT!! :Bowman:

So as y'all know, totally tried to get the ball rolling on this thing awhile back. Long story short, ended up with a surprise move and other issues, including slow DSL internet (is there any other kind?!).

But! The slow internets have been remedied, and I must say, I still think the idea of a radio show/podcast for this site would be pretty DURN awesome.

At any rate, I'll still be using BlogTalkRadio, mainly for it's call-in feature (via phone or Skype) and the ability to have a co-host (which I'd be totally up for, as much as l like hearing myself talk, hah! :Alone:)

The question (that I'm sure I asked you guys before, but bears repeating) is this: What kinda schedule do you guys think would work out best for something like this?

Off the top of my head, I was thinking maybe a one-hour weekly/bi-weekly show with maybe something in between to cover noteworthy transactions and the like.

Thoughts/questions/concerns/diarrheas?

Alrighty!

So, the tentative plan for now is for CCR (no one's trademarked that, right? Hah!) to launch Sunday night, April 3rd @ 6 PM Mountain Daylight Time.

It'll be an hour show - I'll have some things prepared to run my mouth about, but the more you guys call in, the more fun we'll have! Lol, or the easier it'll be to fill that hour, at any rate.

I'll make a new thread for the show with the BlogTalkRadio link as the date approaches.

Thanks again, guys, for your support in this and waiting me out a second time around. :FrediConfident:

Alrighty, guys!

Here's the situation:

I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and all was well and good until it started pitching a fit with my wireless card - leading to connection dropouts every few minutes or so. Totally not suited for a Radio show/podcast, haha.

I followed Microsoft's advice to delete and reinstall the winsock protocols in my registry...and it was great! I could delete them, but couldn't restore them. :Alone:

But not to fear! I had Windows backup do its thing on my external hard drive.

Unfortunately, Windows would neither boot or recognize my backup. This led to me nuking ye olde PC and starting from scratch with Windows 7 - which apparently likes my wireless card much better... and absolutely no dropouts so far!

So, anyway, I *can* do a show tonight (same time frame, 6-7 MDT), but I was also thinking of pushing it off a day till tomorrow night and maybe even discussing that afternoon's game with the Nats.

I'm good either way, but would like y'alls input as usual.

Side note: I'd totally go the ethernet route, but my satellite internet company told me that it's not possible. I call shenanigans! :Bowman:
