The Reverse Pennant Chase

That would be extremely difficult. Even if the Giants finish 20-20, which would be a surprise, the Braves would have to come in 14-30. It's technically possible but highly doubtful. We have 5 in our sights, and I could see 4 happening. But that's about it.

It could work out for us, though, because Beer could fall in our laps. And even if he proves to be a DH, I'd love to have a potential middle-of-the-order bat as a trade piece.

I'd agree with that. And next years draft is supposed to better than this years. Getting to 4 would be huge.

Just a guess, but we probably don't need a higher pick to land Beer given his defensive liabilities.

Just makes one wonder if he might be fast-tracked as a potential Kemp replacement since the brass has shown the willingness to blow off defense in LF with Kemp and Adams out there.

Now tied for 4th worst in the NL and only a game behind Cincy and 4 behind SF. Didn't think we'd be this bad again but a higher draft is the focus now!

We are so close. That Colorado series was so frustrating. Let's hope Cincinnati completes the sweep today.

I'm going to be that "fan" who wishes all of our youngsters do well (at each position), but Snitker makes idiotic bullpen mistakes. I hope the vets in the pen blow the games for us.

It would be awesome to get another top 5 pick before we ascend into the 15-20 range next year.
