Agree.

But, I don't see it. It would have to be profits going to the family simply because the bills would have to be paid first. And MLB won't allow actual profits to be revealed.

It would likely have to be something like a set cash payment like $500K or $1M.
 
If the game isn't made up, it takes away our tiebreaker over all the teams except the Reds, since there will now be no ties. It could end up costing us a few slots in the draft.

Yeah, this is actually true. It would only help against the Reds.

Depends on how you look at it, I suppose. If we end up tied with any team in the loss column, we will have a lower winning percentage than that team and would get the higher draft pick.
 
I would be more interested if the Marlins got to within .5 game out of WC #2.. I would think a make up game would be scheduled at that point.

Right, but for every team other than the Reds, even if you gave us a win in the canceled game, it wouldn't change our draft slot because we own the tiebreaker over that team.

So it only helps us against the Reds but could definitely hurt us if we end up tied with a team other than the Reds in the win column.
 
At this point the worst we'll get is 6th and the best is 2nd. Arizona and Cincy helped us out tonight. We need Tampa to pick it up and win a few games.
 
In these last 6 games, to keep the #2 slot in next year's draft:

We can do no more than 1 game better than the Rays and D'Backs.
We can do no more than 2 games better than the Reds and Padres.
We can do no more than 3 games better than the A's.

We will pick somewhere between 2 and 7.

Rays: 3 @ CWS, 3 @ TEX
Padres: 3 v LAD, 3 @ ARZ
Diamondbacks: 3 @ WAS, 3 v SD
Reds: 3 @ STL, 3 v CHC
Braves: 3 v PHI, 3 v DET
 
The Reds easily have the hardest record but maybe the Cubs will take it easy since they've clinched already.

Athletics: 2 at LAA, 4 at Seattle
 
I think we will end up in the 4-5 hole...hope I'm wrong, but we could easily win 5 of the next 6 the way we have been playing. Snit needs to let some of the guys like Rio play.
