“The right” and their civility

Just listening to what the next president of the US is actively calling for. Maybe I'm paranoid for believing them though

Different people will listen to the same thing and it will register in different ways.

In her book "Educated" Tara Westover talks about the Ruby Ridge case and how one day she came across some newspaper stories of the story. And reading these newspaper clippings she thinks back to how her father "heard" the news about Ruby Ridge in a very different way and about how her father's version of what he heard led to some pretty bad repercussions for her and the rest of the family.

Talk to your loved ones about it.

I don't know you and it is presumptuous of me to say this but I will anyhow. Your life would be better if you could set aside this paranoid thinking.

Something something amateur doctors etc.

I've heard a couple candidates say it would be illegal for me to keep my private health I insurance which I love.

I also heard a candidate say they will confiscate my property... hell yes, he said.

I heard another candidate say they need to make meet so expensive I will no longer buy it.

Maybe I need to get my hearing checked?

Dismissing conclusions based on promises made is now paranoia?

Very conveninet and a continued atrempt to shame people to think a certain way.

I don't think being a political or economic conservative or a libertarian is a sign of mental illness (or being a socialist for that matter). And there are all sorts of people I disagree with on all sides of the political spectrum who I would not attribute my disagreements with to paranoia or some other mental condition. You and sturg though. I have to be honest. Anyhow, that's the last I'm going to say on this.

What is the paranoia here?

I'm curious as to what I've misheard?

We just had a long discussion about it in the past couple pages of this thread. If you can't find it, it's not worth my effort to point you toward it.

If its about the mental illness question i think it would be prudent to discuss if she has mental health issues documented.

Do you think any child naturally believes the world is going to end without coaching?

You can call us paranoid but ill choose to call you oblivious.

But seriously... I'm very interested in reconciling what ive heard the future leaders say, and what about that is paranoia.

Gaslighting is a popular term, these days...

I think it's more likely that someone believing the world is about to end is guilty of paranoia, rather than those who advise caution on that type of fear mongering.

But hey... I'm just a paranoid crazy

from another thread

So far I've heard the potential next Presidents say:

1. I cannot have my private health insurance. I must utilize the states health insurance that is a massive money loser.

2. I cannot have certain guns that are legal today, and that the government will come to my house to take them. If I refuse, I presume I will go to jail or be shot.

3. I may not have a say in how many children I can

4. I may not be able to eat what I would like to eat

5. I cannot have a choice in where I send my kid to school

6. I may not be allowed to use certain cars or planes for transportation

7. I must pay higher taxes in order to gain the privilege of these restrictions

8. I must provide the government a list of all assets I own in a national registration so the government may assess a wealth tax

9. My taxes must go to eliminate people's debt and welfare of illegal aliens

I agree those havent been promised (except for #2, which definitely has). They have definitely been suggested in some manner.

1, 6, 7, 8, 9 are all legit? Interesting. I guess that proves I'm paranoid!

the last couple words of 2 are paranoid if nothing else...the graceful way out is to retract them

legit? 6 is legit only in the so what sense...you can't drive a certain type of car already (regulations on safety and emissions)...ditto for planes...what exactly it is you found so alarming from such restrictions completely escapes me
