The SCOTUS Nomination and Confirmation Thread

I have a friend who is a pretty accomplished musical composer. One day Beethoven's 5th came on the radio and she asked what is that, it sounds familiar. Needless to say, I have never let her forget that.

Happen like this ?

Hey bud, what was that absolute banger I heard on the radio this morning ? Went something like this ....

That was Beethoven’s 5th bro

You didn’t have to have a law degree to see this, as evidenced on the pages prior in this thread. But here we are ignoring common sense.

And thanks for posting that.

Case closed, next .

I read a hole in her written opinion you could drive a truck through.

Expect to see her words justifying use of racial, gender and ethnic slurs.

So like I said next is the point

Where did you go to law school? Did you write your senior paper showing the supporting precedent for your truck hole?

Further- did any other courts pick up this as an appeal? Hell I don’t even know if it can be. Sounds like there wasn’t enough for a case.

You can have an issue with a law or how it’s written and just say so without insinuating the woman is racist and so were all the other judges that were involved

I prefaced my original thought with something about my untrained legal opinion or something like that --- but I can read.
Regardless this particular case or it's outcome, or who voted what, who agreed or disagreed --- she wrote what she wrote

"The n-word is an egregious racial epithet. That said, Smith can’t win simply by proving that the word was uttered,” she wrote. “He must also demonstrate that Colbert’s use of this word altered the conditions of his employment and created a hostile or abusive working environment.”

Did she really write that the use of the N word by a supervisor does not constitute a hostile work environment ?
Is the bar making Mr Smith pick cotton to be evidence of hostile workplace ?
/////////////

I asked earlier and received no specific response, Say a supervisor is being sued in court by a Jewish person assaulted with the K word or a Latino the S word or LGBTQ F word or, a woman accuses the use of the B word, can and would said supervisor use this opinion as a defense ?

My limited legal expertise says yes

You can tell how good of a candidate she actually is, by how often 57 and goldy post negative **** about her.

First off, she is not a candidate she is a nominee
that will be rubber stamped in

in the 2nd place we now have a Supreme Court Justice that
has written an opinion stating the workplace use of the N word
by a supervisor
is not necessarily grounds for a hostile working environment

so yeah, unless convinced otherwise, that is troubling

Judge Barrett served on the Bd of Trustees of a group of private schools that barred children from attending their schools simply because their parents were unmarried. In the year 2017.

You do have to have great concerns about her integrity simply because she's Trump's nominee. What kind of serious judge would want to be the nominee of a sitting felon president who has so many clouds of corruption over him? And we all know that he made her promise loyalty to him.

Hyperbole again?

Its getting hard to figure out when you are or aren't serious.
