The Siege of Minneapolis

I was unhappy about it at first. Now I’m okay with forcing Biden to address the problem with immediate solutions instead of those that would have long startup times, like hiring more agents and judges. I’m also okay with one additional year of weak border policy in exchange for four years of competent border policy. So yes, I embrace and celebrate the tanking of the bipartisan border bill. We’ve now gone from over 300k crossings per month during Biden’s peak to less than 10k per month, with a massive number of voluntary and involuntary deportations.

It creates interesting questions though. Was Biden just much less intelligent than Trump, since his policy failed in such historical fashion but was bookended by Trump having successful policy both before and after? Or was he just dishonest and intentionally sabotaging the border? Which do you think it was?
I think it was a failure of policy. They probably should have went the executive authority route before trying to pass bipartisan legislation seeing as that’s more difficult.

My question for you is why not do both? Pass the legislation with requirements that he also address it with immediate solutions. If this is an issue that you consider is a danger for the American people it shouldn’t be ok for the GOP to put it off so Trump can campaign on. It was a bipartisan solution that both parties could claim. It wouldn’t have moved the needle in the election either way.

Just more outrageous slander.

I look forward to a full and open investigation yielding that MAGA is wrong. Whats the typical sentence for an attempted assassination of a government official?

Has to be several years right?
I really hate throwing fuel on the fire when you get into a frenzy like this, but I’ve never once in my life seen an attacker try so hard not to attack someone.

If it wasn’t staged, he’s the worst anybody has ever been at this *and* Omar is kind of a badass.

It absolutely would have depressed the MAGA vote because it codified the invasion.

~2M per year to just trigger action.

MAGA voters would have revolted against Trump and the GOP and stayed home which of course was the point.

At least you see it - No person is almost assassinated and then runs after their attacker. Well no woman for sure.

Damn....look at me being all MAGA hat conspiracy. I look forward to this scumbag being put in jail for a long time. ANd for the sake of clarity I'm talking about this super real assassin and not Omar.

To be fair, that isn’t proof of a conspiracy. It’s just really weird. Crazier things have been true.

Coinciding with an explosive report showing a fake winery contributing to her massive increase in wealth.

Probably unrelated - Here I go again being poisoned by MAGA conspiracy theories.

People have been making claims about Omar’s net worth for months now, the timing isn’t all that interesting to me. It just looks exactly like I’d imagine a staged incident would look like. If it’s not staged, he’s the worst would-be assassin in history.

I’ll wait for more information before calling it staged. Her look does seem to trigger his actions, but sixth sense is a real thing and video doesn’t give us all of the cues that being there does. She could have felt something off and looked at him funny, he could have been nervous and believed that she was looking at him with suspicion. He was definitely either a poor attacker or a poor actor.

The winery revelation is very new.

Correct - If real then this person should go to jail for a very long time.

I want Omar dropped off in Somalia - not killed

In New York, third-degree assault (PL 120.00) is classified as a Class A misdemeanor, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 364 days in jail.
While third-degree assault is generally the least serious assault charge, when the victim is a public official or political figure, the charges are often elevated to a felony (such as Second Degree Assault, which is a Class D felony) depending on the intent, the injury caused, or whether a weapon was used.
Key Penalties for Third-Degree Assault (Misdemeanor):
  • Jail Time: Up to 364 days.
  • Probation: Up to 3 years.
  • Fines: Up to $1,000.
  • Restitution: Possible restitution to the victim for medical costs.
  • Permanent Record: A conviction results in a permanent criminal record.
Factors Affecting Penalties:
  • Elevation to Felony: If the assault involves "serious physical injury" or the use of a deadly weapon, it can be upgraded from a misdemeanor to a felony, significantly increasing potential jail time.
  • Protected Class: If the political figure is considered a protected class (e.g., in some contexts, police or other officials), the charge may be automatically enhanced to a higher-degree felony.
  • Probation: For first-time offenders, a judge may impose 3 years of probation instead of jail time.

I look forward to this scumbag spending minimum 1 year in jail.

Ecuador’s foreign ministry said it lodged a formal diplomatic protest with the United States after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent attempted to enter the country’s consulate in Minneapolis without permission on Tuesday morning.

Employees of the consulate stopped the agent from entering, the Ecuadorean foreign ministry said in a statement Tuesday night. Under the Vienna Conventions, to which the United States is a party, foreign consular buildings are off-limits to law enforcement from the host country without authorization from consular officials.

more comical incompetence
