Trump was never necessarily good for conservatism or bad for liberals. I guess maybe we're seeing a bit of that play out, but I can't really figure out what's going on right now. Trump screwed over Ryan and the freedom caucus over the past couple of weeks. Is it just a constant internal battle playing out with Pence/Reince vs Bannon? I tend to think that Trump is just a bull in a china shop and the aforementioned advisors are the matadors. And this might be the ultimate result for all of them.

Curious why you are so anti-FC... Agree with them or not, I think it's healthy to have principled small government conservatives in the house - at the very least just to keep people honest.
Because of them, you were saved a horrid health care bill. At least in the case of Amash - he is NOT a partisan voter... just a constitutional voter (at least his interpretation of it)... what's wrong with that?

That is really odd. Hard to believe that he would flip so easily, or maybe there have been private talks and threats.
What seems more likely to me, given which team he's on and their behavior so far, is that he thinks he'll be able to avoid admitting anything really damaging, to him or the administration.

Any lawyer worth his salt is going to insist on immunity before letting his client talk, even if they are innocent. We live in a country where being innocent does not protect you.

I wish someone would get locked up already. I dont even care if they are guilty of what they are charged with. Democrats or REpublicans I dont care, they are all guilty of pouring gasoline on the dumpster fire that is our criminal justice system. Whatever happened to the Sessions perjury stuff?

I'm starting to see a bit of resemblance to the manner (not the content) of what is happening now to what happened in Minnesota during the Ventura administration. It is going to be difficult, but not impossible, for Trump to fashion an on-going legislative coalition to advance his platform even with Republican control of Congress.
I voted for trumps policies on immigration and economy. Those haven't changed. For that reason I hope that "side" wins.
