We all know that our immigration policies are tired and need reform, but this plan is pointlessly restrictive and focuses on a slew of absurd qualifications like English proficiency.
What about the bill appeals to you?

Expansion of drug war
Bailing out the auto companies
Lying to the public about being able to keep your doctor (i only cite this because of the daily posts about Trump lying)
Doubled our nation's debt
Deported more people than any other President
Oh.. and lets not forget about the drone war and the NSA... the most egregious thing a President has done in my lifetime
For me it's that we are prioritizung bringing peoplease here who most likely will be self sufficient. Economic security is the most important factor in security.
In addition, the less low skilled work imported will provide Americans who are struggling more a chance to advance themselves in life thereby requiring the population to subsiduze a lesser percentage of the population.

I think our immigration policy is too restrictive... but if we are going to restrict, it should be merit-based above randomness
