The Trump Presidency

still hoping the 30 pieces of silver will be enough i see

Yeah - thats all that happened.

Keep dreaming that your identity politics big government strategy will work. The people that have actual jobs and not part time temporary labor feel otherwise. Not everyone was born with money like you.

I have a job, wasn't born into money and think this president is a con man. 93rd day at a Trump golf course and 120th day at a Trump property in less than a year. Fraud.

I encourage our elected officials to work less. Only way this country is going to get better.

*insert personal attack on cotton's "morality" in lieu of contributing to substantive policy debate*

Tom Cotton is digging in what should be an attainable 60-vote DACA compromise bill. He's standing in the way of substantive debate by playing the "amnesty for millions" card.

But fwiw, I think his "morality" is somewhat as an issue, considering that he's willing to go on the Sunday shows and bull**** about the WH meeting (undercutting his colleagues) when there is substantial desire on both sides to see something done. It speaks to his lack of good-faith desire to see something done.

We all know who tanked comprehensive reform last time. They'll do it again if they're given space to. If you care about substantive debate, Tom Cotton and the Freedom Caucus in the House aren't your friends.

They have both the house and senate and the presidency. If the government shuts down, it's the republicans fault. They can choose to pass something or do what they've done for the last year - nothing at all.

The immigration meeting was pure theater. Trump never intended to sign anything, though he acted like he'd sign DACA (whatever they brought to him) in the morning and then a comprehensive immigration policy in the early afternoon.

This is why nobody takes the left's hysteria seriously anymore

To be fair, if Trump wants to take credit for fixing commercial aviation, he should probably also accept blame for things like this...

Edit: To be clear, Trump isn't actually to blame.

Hard to argue with this logic. Trump gets absurd negative attention but he brings a lot of it on himself.

They need 60 in the Senate I believe.

Among African Americans and Hispanics, reactions to Trump depend more on gender than age or education. In every age group, and at every level of education, about twice as many African American men as women gave Trump positive marks. In all, 23 percent of black men approved of Trump’s performance versus 11 percent of black women. “The outlier here isn’t [black] men … it’s [black] women, where you have near-universal disapproval of Trump,” said Cornell Belcher, a Democratic pollster who studies African American voters. Still, black men are one of the few groups for which Trump’s 2017 average approval rating significantly exceeds his 2016 vote share.

Among Hispanics, men were also much more likely than women to express positive views about Trump. Among Hispanic men older than 50, Trump’s approval— strikingly—exceeded 40 percent. But at least three-fifths of Hispanic women in every age group (including both those with and without a college degree) disapproved. Trump’s 2017 approval rating slightly exceeded his 2016 vote share among Hispanic men, and was slightly below it among Hispanic women.

Interesting article about where Trumps support is trending right now. As people start to see the benefits of tax reform in their paychecks I expect these numbers to improve. The American people appreciate blunt language and not two face politician speak. HOwever, this idea that black people don't support Trump is starting to be a failing idea. Black people are just like Hispanic people are just like White people. They want good jobs to support their family. "It's the economy stupid"
