The Trump Presidency

Anybody who still maintains that 'sanctions' mean **** to Russia hasn't been paying attention for ... a while.

Annexed? I thought they "adopted"

The real Tillerson story ?

" In February 2015, Exxon Mobil reported losing about $1 billion due to sanctions.[91] "

Remind me, the subject of the June 6 Trump Tower meeting

I'm trying to stick with things you can easily digest.

Not working, obviously.

What did you put in that coffee?

You're taking the position that tillerson was fired because of that issue?

I don't think that was the proximate cause of his firing, no. I thought he was a dead man walking ever since the "****ing moron" story. But McMaster's case illustrates that even lowest common denominator real talk is not exactly welcomed.

One thing I understand ?

The Russians bet the farm to have sanctions lifted.
Fairly certain Putin was not looking out for Bulgarian interests.
Or particularly cared

“President Trump agreed with Prime Minister May that the Government of the Russian Federation must provide unambiguous answers regarding how this chemical weapon, developed in Russia, came to be used in the United Kingdom,” the White House said in a brief statement on the call.“The two leaders agreed on the need for consequences for those who use these heinous weapons in flagrant violation of international norms.”

Noted that this was released after the readout of the call from the UK side.

I guess I should be thankful that they're at least paying lip service to the old Special Relationship

First of all, Bulgaria? What are you talking about?

Secondly, sanctions against Russia for their invasion of the Ukraine were a) an international effort and b) should not be confused with the sanctions we levied against them in 2017 for 2016 meddling

The 2016-17, to the best of my knowledge, were never levied.

Still sittin' on ya boy's desk

Amazing source of info that Wikipedia

"Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov stated, "I don't know how Russia is affected by the sanctions, but Bulgaria is affected severely"

Something tells me it won't though.
