As heartbreaking as that is, I’ve read a lot of similar, and even worse, stories over the last several weeks. I’ve got kids and I can’t even contemplate this stuff.

for anyone who doesnt think Stormy's arrest was politically motivated. The police union in the area overwhelmingly endorsed Trump. They dont usually even endorse a candidate so they have to really like a candidate. These people said having 25% of the worlds prisoners is soft on crime.



One weird thing is few people are reporting all 6 charges they filed. Most articles you read wont tell you they charged her with assaulting an undercover cop by pinching his butt and slapping him in the face with her breast...... in a strip club.......

It'd be nice if we could get a 3rd and 4th party to make room for the new socialists and libertarians.

And I haven't voted for a republican since 2008
 
apparently the Trump-Cohen recording leaked to the NYT was shielded by attorney-client privilege...but Trump's people leaked it...wonder what they think they're gaining by doing that

One thing that occurred to me—it appears that there isn’t an any legal exposure for Trump here. And we’ve seen it demonstrated thoroughly that highlighting his philandering doesn’t erode his support. It could just be an attempt to get the news cycle off Helsinki & Russia.

Some of the Times reporters, especially Maggie Haberman, seem ok with allowing a certain amount of spin to seep into their stories. Part of the price of doing business I suppose.
 
Haberman is good at what she does, but what she does includes a lot of classic access journalism, so it means that she’s just a glorified stenographer sometimes. As you say, the price of doing business.

I havent seen a worse bungling of a legal situation since the NFL's handling of bountygate. Giuliani is a moron and is trying to fake it till he makes it as a defense attorney. He is used to being a prosecutor where he could call an apple an orange and people would believe him because they felicitate law enforcement. Giuliani can call this tape exculpatory all he wants, its not, it actually makes his case that he didnt know of the Stormy payment even more laughable than it was before. If Trump escapes this I bet he replaces the Kiebler elf with this hobgoblin.

Another theory is Trump's people wanted the tape out to advance a certain narrative about Michael Cohen. That he is untrustworthy, etc. While that might be true of Cohen, I think the issue that will eventually be before us (or a jury) is whether Cohen's forthcoming claims can be corroborated by other evidence. It is unlikely to be Trump's word versus Cohen's (what a choice that would be).

Btw there needs to be an investigation if Michael did all this without a FISA warrant.
