The Trump Presidency

Maybe it's a minority of Liberals that are walking the self-righteous line, but it's a loud minority, with huge platforms from diverse areas, that are policing the open dialogue that could and should be taking place.

As a moderate Republican, I could get on board with Democrats. I am for strict gun control, LGBTQ rights, healthcare reform, global warming, Wall Street regulations, etc.. But it's become impossible to associate myself with a party that openly doesn't care about white America.

FWIW, the Republican party also showed me that they no longer care about conservative principles.

Ah yes, who will look out for the poor, disenfranchised white man in America?

Not a big fan of white men?

White men are helped enough by our society. To say that any party is not looking out for the interests of white people is to ignore that white people do not need to be looked after because it happens by itself.

What specific polices help white men in our society compared to other demographic groups, with the caveat that these polices help white men because they are white men.

I agree that minorities need to have their rights protected. White America is well off in that capacity.

But the heartland is struggling. Does anybody care?

It is unnecessary, because systemic forces already help white people compared to non-white people.

Not sure that is a factual statement. The policies (D) has pushed since 1932 are to lift up all Americans.
In fact some early New Deal programs were segregated

In these past 8 years alone Lilly Ledbetter was a white woman. My guess is as many if not more whites kept or gained their jobs
by keeping the US auto industry afloat.

Just because one person or party advocates an equal playing field does not necessarily mean they
don't "care".
I am Caucasian and don't feel threatened by the Dream Act.

A high tide raises all boats.
......

Every other post from AA is about how (D) ignores black America.

How can you both be right ?

When it comes to black matters, most often I am right. My pastor is part of the Illinois Black Caucus which has ties to the national Black Caucus.

They are white. All of us have been born into wealth and don't work hard.

They have been legitimized and its just one of many mistakes that Obama has made.

That is why the R's made significant gains since he wont he presidency in 2008.

Black Lives Matter was founded in 2013, so there goes that argument. They were legitimate before they met with Obama in the same way that the Tea Party was legitimate (and whose establishment predates Black Lives Matter). People get to organize and whether or not they meet with the President has nothing to do with whether or not they are accorded legitimacy.

I don't think he should be ignored. Twitter wants you to ignore him. I just don't think anyone should be scared of him. He's way over on the fringe.

This isn't Russia in the 19th century or Weimar Germany, but every successful radical fringe movement started with a vanguard and Spencer is clearly the vanguard of this movement and he's rubbed elbows with Bannon. I'm not a "hate won" guy regarding this election, but there are a lot of ingredients in our political stew right now and Spencer and his crowd comprise the most indigestible. Glad to see Trump disavow them, but there's no question that a number of his statements made during the campaign helped fire this crowd up in the first place. The Anti-Defamation League is reporting an uptick in bias-motivated incidents since the election (I honestly don't know how they determine what a bias-motivated incident is). Trump will probably be called upon again to calm things down and I think he'll be up to it.

Is this the same systematic force that helps jedi trainees become jedi knights?

Legitimately unsure if you're just trolling, but white people have nothing to complain about compared to their minority counterparts. Yes, there are white people struggling. It is not the case that being white is a ticket to success, but unfortunately in our society it has been an advantage. There have been countless studies done on subconscious bias and the numbers on things such as incarceration rates are pretty damning. When someone says Black Lives Matter, it's not because they think those are the only lives that matter, it's because society has taught them that they matter less, and that needs to change.

Good post. I like it.

Blacks can succeed in this country, but the issue is that Democrats really don't push them actually the opposite while Republicans say it is up to you if you want to succeed.

I've been preaching this since 2002 on this board and our last board.
