The Trump Presidency

Legitimately unsure if you're just trolling, but white people have nothing to complain about compared to their minority counterparts. Yes, there are white people struggling. It is not the case that being white is a ticket to success, but unfortunately in our society it has been an advantage. There have been countless studies done on subconscious bias and the numbers on things such as incarceration rates are pretty damning. When someone says Black Lives Matter, it's not because they think those are the only lives that matter, it's because society has taught them that they matter less, and that needs to change.

There aren't any studies that actually show that subconscious bias leads to racist or sexist behavior though. So this idea that there's some systematic force that holds down minorities has no real meaning. You might as well be talking about the force from Star Wars. That's why it's important to focus on the actual behavior rather than some subconscious thought.

The only group of people trying to convince minorities and women that they matter less to society (i.e. they are victims) are the social justice warrior leftists. When you dig past the surface on incarceration rates and stuff like that then you find that there's really no significant bias there, and it can be explained by looking at other demographic factors. In reality the factors that grant people privilege have little to do with race and much more to do with income, family, health, intelligence etc.

This isn't Russia in the 19th century or Weimar Germany, but every successful radical fringe movement started with a vanguard and Spencer is clearly the vanguard of this movement and he's rubbed elbows with Bannon. I'm not a "hate won" guy regarding this election, but there are a lot of ingredients in our political stew right now and Spencer and his crowd comprise the most indigestible. Glad to see Trump disavow them, but there's no question that a number of his statements made during the campaign helped fire this crowd up in the first place. The Anti-Defamation League is reporting an uptick in bias-motivated incidents since the election (I honestly don't know how they determine what a bias-motivated incident is). Trump will probably be called upon again to calm things down and I think he'll be up to it.

I think Communism and Socialism are a much bigger future threat to society right now then some super fringey white nationalist movement. And the only reason this minuscule white nationalist movement even exists is because of social justice warriors ****ting all over white men. There's a reason it's popped its ugly head up these past couple years. The social justice warrior movement is a much bigger threat to western culture then the amoeba sized white nationalist movement. Tribalism as a whole is the real threat.

Lots of fake bias-motivated incidents going on right now from people on the left.

I'm not sure. I tend to agree, but we're seeing the rise of right-leaning nationalists in Europe, plus Brexit. My fear is when the pendulum swings, it will swing violently left rather than back to the middle. I'm either case, not an ideal time in the world to be a free market capitalist who believes in globalization and thinks immigration is a force for good..

It would be easier to weigh in on this one if I felt most Americans had the slightest clue as to the actual definitions of the two and the actual differences between them.

I think this is where we're supposed to say Trump is your fault.

Good post. I like it.

Blacks can succeed in this country, but the issue is that Democrats really don't push them actually the opposite while Republicans say it is up to you if you want to succeed.

I've been preaching this since 2002 on this board and our last board.

Yeah, one thing I want to make clear is that I don't believe for a second that minority groups in this country cannot or do not already succeed on their own or that it's up to politicians to allow them to. All I'm suggesting is that there are ways in which prejudice and racism (explicit and implicit) affect our society, and that railing against movements such as BLM or bemoaning the lack of a "white agenda" is entirely missing this point.

Valid point, but I am via the Illinois Black Caucus that the Democrats make it easy for my race to be lazy and rely on government.

I am not saying you are wrong, I am just saying what has been branded to us.

Allowing the media to allow BLM to be known is not helping anything by pinpointing the violent part of their movement for money.

You missed my point. All revolutionary movements of both the left and right start out as vanguard movements. The point is to educate the populace as a whole to call these people out whatever their stripe. But in response to your last sentence, I frankly don't know why the ADL would make stuff up.

My problem isn't Spencer and his crew being called out, but the radicals on the left not being called out. Spencer is a natural response to the fascism of SJW leftists, who have been given a free pass by many on the left.

I don't think ADL is making anything up, but they are taking every "incident" as legit. A lot of these incidents are incidents proven to be fraud originating from the "victim". And a lot of the real incidents are attacks on Trump supporters. ADL isn't faking the claims, but certainly they might be playing politics here by combining all incidents into a vague general descriptive.

you can see I can talk to others than 57, do you think he is a troll and have total LEFT ideas?

50, mq, others know how to talk to me without 57 laden ultimatums, memes or links all LEFT leaning.

We don't need people like him we need more 50's and others to go to the middle.

Speaking on the alt-right, here's a good interview with Ben Shapiro, a conservative journalist who worked with Bannon and Milo Yiannopolis at Breitbart.

excerpt:

Basically, the alt-right is a group of thinkers who believe that Western civilization is inseparable from European ethnicity—which is racist, obviously. It’s people who believe that if Western civilization were to take in too many people of different colors and different ethnicities and different religions, then that would necessarily involve the interior collapse of Western civilization. As you may notice, this has nothing to do with the Constitution. It has nothing to do with the Declaration of Independence. It has nothing to do actually with Western civilization. The whole principle of Western civilization is that anybody can involve himself or herself in civilized values. That’s not what the alt-right believes—at least its leading thinkers, people like Richard Spencer and Jared Taylor and Vox Day. Those kind of folks will openly acknowledge that this is their thought process.

Here's a link to the podcast
of the interview with Mike Pesca of Slate. The political stuff is with Shapiro. After that some pretty hilarious stuff on crazy Canadian news.

I wish I can get in a room one on one or all three, doesn't matter so I can beat the schit out of them. But they woudl be too chicken schit to accept the challenge.

So you're in favor of violence against people who have different beliefs than you?

I might sound Right leaning, but I am not the nicest person in the world and racists are the first people I see rage and will do something.

you can say well you are a racist on the same sex issues. Who said I was against their marriage, NEVER. I am a bigot, said that what 500 times on here. But I would like anyone who is offended go toe to toe with me and tell me in my face....you won't like the results.
