The Trump Presidency

Neo-Nazi site Daily Stormer has some praise. Perhaps Sean Spicer meant this

Organized Jewry is frothing at the mouth at Donald Trump’s faux pas on “Holocaust memorial day.” [...]

[Trump] is still exceeding expectations in pushing back against Jewish supremacy. The vast majority of people in America, who are generally ignorant regarding the truth of World War II, will see nothing wrong with Trump’s statement, but the kneejerk Jewish reaction exposes them once again.

Most you would probably deny the American Holocaust so I dont see the big deal. If you want to tell yourself its not the same thats fine but its millions of innocent people imprisoned and made second class citizens as well as millions of deaths. There is nothing as bad as the concentration camps but the American Holocaust has gone on for 10 times as long. There is no difference from the Germans using laws to make abusing Jews legal and the laws we make here to legalize the stripping of minorities of their basic rights.

There is no reason to deny people their freedom if they do not violate the rights of others, their property, or are a threat to others.

I didn't say that vouchers, on their own, constituted "'decimation' of publicly-funded education"; and I actually think, moreover, that vouchers—"provided", as you suggest, that "the government responsibility which is removed in the public to private transfer is then correspondingly re-appropriated to a oversight of the for-profit enterprises"—are not a horrible idea. They wouldn't be the first improvement I'd suggest, but I actually think vouchers that allow parents to send their children to existing private schools, with some sort of organ of oversight like you suggest, make a hell-of-a-lot more sense than the sort of direct pubic-subsidy apparatus that constitutes charter schools (all the rage amongst establishment liberals like Cory Booker, all-too-often partial to total disasters).

i really don't follow the education battles well even though I do some teaching in a private classical academy. Seems like most of the charter schools in my neck of the woods are actually successful though. Shrug.

Sen. @marcorubio says staff asked @StateDept for clarification today but were told the agency's been directed not to answer Qs from Congress

Maybe 50pound remembers too - the Saturday Night Massacre when Nixon fired Elliot Richardson and his seconds at the Justice Department.
This scenario is not the same but, acting heads of Justice Department are about to be fired

Posters poo pooed it a couple weeks ago when I spoke of a constitutional crisis.
As we sit, customs agents (DHS) are defying a court order under instructions from the white house.

All the while the white house has ordered administration agencies to not respond to congressional queries.
Good times

Whoever heads the DoJ deserves to be fired. The DoJs response to blatant criminal conspiracy by police deaprtments to deprive poor black and latino people was to give the cops a stern talking to and asking them nicely to cut it out. I am sure the cops are quaking in their boots over the DOJs threat to sue them if they dont comply since its the taxpayer money that would pay any lawsuit.

Just to give one example the DOJ had an investigator riding with a cop when his supervisor told him to clear a group of black people off a corner. When then cop said he he had no legal reason to do so because they had not done anything wrong the supervisor told him "make something up". Was that supervisor charged with a crime? No. Was that supervisor fired? No. Was then supervisor even suspended? No. If I remember correctly they recommended "additional training". So what good is the DOJ exactly?

I know that in some instances, whistleblower laws explicitly forbid that kind of blanket gag order.

It's going to be hard to find anyone other than the hackier types on Capitol Hill to defend this. The fact that, apparently, the head of DHS learned about the order at the same time the public did has got to give pause to the more sober types.

What's even more distressing is that AG-designate Sessions provided the WH with a lot of the key people who work in this area, including Stephen Miller, reportedly one of the architects of this ****show.

I'm not sure there is anything that isn't distressing about Jeff Sessions and his ascendance.

Not sure why we're kink-shaming bigboy/littleboy sexuality. President Trump's sub/dom relationship with Mr Bannon is the least of my complaints.

per Washington Post:

"A little bit of under-competence and a slight amount of insecurity can breed some paranoia and backstabbing," one White House official, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly, said of Priebus. "We have to get Reince to relax into the job and become more competent, because he's seeing shadows where there are no shadows."

Wow. Already.

Trump just fired the acting Attorney General for not following the law. Hopefully this criminal is held to the same standard everyday cops hold you and me to and imprison her. The law is infallible, we need this vicious criminal brought to heel.

Technically he fired her for following the law, as opposed to his EO.
