The Trump Presidency

Market seems to think that this Comey hearing was much to do about nothing. Another record high for the dow.

Again...there is no collusion. There is no crime. There is nothing but please continue on with the charade. The American people don't care about this anymore.

Doesn't have to be collusion and it doesn't have to a "crime" for the President to be a liar, a fraud and in deep doo doo.

It kind of does.

The Democrats/Liberals are going to take a huge hit on this. If there are no gains in 2018 it could be a long time till the left has any power.

The Dems are going to take a hit on what? That Trump is not only a lying fool but a bumbling, lying fool, and that he and the Reps care only about funneling even more money to the richest Americans, just like W did?

Yeah all those extra jobs and market cap is going to the wealthiest. Guess what...the only way the middle class does better is that the wealthy create more opportunity. If the poor want to stay poor that's there business. For those of us that bust our ass to work long hours and continue education as we work full time we deserve to receive more and that's what we are getting. So please Mr Trump....continue to cut regulation and shrink the government.

Glad you resorted to talking points. Hopefully this Russia nonsense is finally put to rest.

"We like this because it's good TV and media... but the reality is, nobody cares. There's nothing to see"

This could be a long summer:

BREAKING: Trump lawyer accuses Comey of `unauthorized disclosures' of `privileged communications' he had with the president.

Yeah, Trump's lawyer is setting it up as "he said/he said." He's denying that Trump said things that Comey has testified under oath that he said, documented with contemporaneous memos, and briefed his colleagues about.

Trump's well-acknowledged respect for the truth will serve him well here.

So if it's all kosher, thethe and sturg, why deny the statements? Hell, on that score, why was the special counsel appointed?

I cant jump into the mind of a madman (Trump). Maybe he didn't want people to think he had these conversations...even though they don't amount to much.

I'm guessing the special prosecutor was based on absurd pressureally from the dems/media beating the Russia drum for almost a year now.

I for one find it hard to believe the President or his team would lie about anything.

Michael Flynn apparently failed to disclose information about contacts with Russian officials on his security clearance paperwork, then lied to investigators about it. He is known to have been the subject of criminal investigation for same, and is presumably facing legal jeopardy for it.

Jeff Sessions similarly failed to disclose contacts. Jared Kushner similarly failed to disclose contacts on his security clearance paperwork. His attorney has maintained that his paperwork was inadvertently filed before completion.

That's three very senior Trump figures who have tried to obscure their contacts with Russian officials or people known to be connected to their intelligence apparatus. This is all happening in the wake of a Russian intelligence op to swing the election to Trump. It's not proof of collusion--or of anything except colossally bad judgement and sketchy ethics--but I'm really surprised that you don't think it's worthy of investigation.

Trump probed Comey's loyalty and subsequently fired him, giving the Russia investigation as a rationale. There may very well be no crime here, but it certainly presents the appearance of impropriety.

As for crimes, that's what the special counsel is investigating. Flynn almost certainly committed a crime (or crimes). Comey's unwillingness to discuss the circumstances of Sessions's recusal in open session indicates that there's probably continued scrutiny of his actions. The President may very well be investigated for obstruction of justice.

This is leaving aside the fact that the Trump campaign employed a oligarchs' cats-paw in Manafort and a known target of Russian recruitment in Carter Page.

And you don't think this warrants investigation?

over looked in conversation about this morning is the closed session this afternoon. Where names get named and security issues are set aside.
Like Julio said, there may be no crime.

(R) Senate Intel will not bring charges. That is a given
And even if Special Prosecutor suggests charges there is no guarantee the (R) House will take the suggestion.

History tells us we are at least a year away from publicly knowing anything more than we do today.
Will make for interesting mid term elections

Of course it warrants an investigation... we've been doing it for 7 months, didn't like that we couldn't find anything, so we're starting a new one.

Now this Comey testimony was supposed to let us impeach Trump, and it produced nothing - as many predicted.

The left will beat this to the ground, but have still failed to uncover any evidence of anything.

No person with any standing ever thought that this hearing would stand alone and "let us impeach"
It just doesn't work that way

So far there charges by a fired FBI Director and a television interview where the President himself admits his reasons for firing that constitute the first two articles of impeachment that forced Nixon's resignation.

Wouldn't call that "nothing".
...................

Before you get to it, no, asking the FBI Director to use the word "matter" rather than "investigation" just doesn't seem to add up.
Had Lynch fired Comey and gone on TV expalining why he was fired === you would have a point.

Had he said an ongoing matter into Sec Clintons emails I feel faily certain we would all know what was up

Even if all those people have had improper relationships with the Russians that doesn't imply anything other than bad judgement like you stated. This has always been a witch hunt against Trump when he in all likelihood had nothing to do with anything. I think it's highly unlikely to think that this would be the first time any WH personal had ties to Russia. We are in a global world and these career military men/poliricians rub elbows all over the world.

I just refuse to believe Russia is our number 1 enemey in the world right now. Always need to keep an eye on them but this charade has really masked what the true problem is in the world.

I get that you want it investigated. Let's have it and see what happen's but don't expect the next alarm to be take seriously if nothing is found.
