That is beautiful, in more ways than one.

Who really thinks North Korea is a serious threat?

Am I afraid of a North Korean ICBM targeting Anchorage? No.

Do I worry about unrest in North Korea potentially upsetting the balance of power in East Asia? Yes.
Do I worry that the United States (and our new $11 billion base outside of Seoul) is wholly unprepared for regime change in North Korea (even if it's a positive one)? Yes.

Do I believe these issues were confounded by two terms of utterly inept foreign policy decisions?

. . .

Yeah.

Yeah.

Do I believe the Obama administration's action on NK, both public and behind the scenes, was based on the opinions and intelligence all our available experts on the matter? Absolutely.

Do I think the opinion of these experts are being utilized now? Anybody's guess.

This is a great example of you blindly sticking up for Obama, because ... Obama.

What 'action' on North Korea?

Literally, can you point out one meaningful (or, hell, even unimportant) event that occurred in United States / Korean peninsula relations during Obama administration?

KORUS?

Obama's inaction ... no, diplomatic negligence ... in Asia (not just in Korea, but in Japan, China, and the Rim) significantly disadvantages the United States for decades to come.

So the border's secure, eh? That means we don't have to waste a dime on that wall, right, Sparky? (And on the economy: Thanks, Obama!)

Obama's relations with Japan were so bad that the Japanese Prime Ministers wife spoke to him in English.
What did you want him to do- lose an Aircraft Carrier (smirk)

We have no idea how Obama or Trump for that matter is dealing with N Korea and speculation bordering on certainty on a baseball message board is sophomoric
Having said that, there is this timeline
Data.

Google any Korean or a Japanese paper (believe it or not, most have English editions - hell, the Korean english daily [Joongang] is even partnered with the New York Times) and you can read in exact detail about how the United States has been/is handling North Korea.

It's not rocket science, but it is a much finer science than relying on ****ty American opinion media. Tough, I know.

But it is kind of funny to see you treat the issue as above your pay grade, because you are just a normal baseball loving American, right?

well, you got me there !!
i don't have the S Korean dailies on my read lists.
and if I ever do I hope someone comes up and hits me upside the head.

Thinking back you and I once discussed the pending treaty the Clinton Administration had on the table in 2000.
Bush43 in character, shelved the notion and walked away.
No further discussions - if I'm right?

Why are (R) Presidents so intent on walking away from (D) pending or already settled proposals, with out conversation of improvment to their liking ? Just throw whatever progress there was in the trash instead of building on it
We kind witnessing the same behaviour over HC right now.
Aren't we?

Kinda like 16 year olds that rebel against anything their parents do or are ---- just because

Hysterical how many people lack any knowledge of how business works.

This is absurd. Hopefully Kellysgets this house in order because there are too many positives happening in the country to allow this baby crap be the story.

Just not sure what to say at this point.

My absolute worst fears realized. The GOP candidate is SO bad that swing voters EVERYWHERE won't sniff voting the GOP ticket for a minimum of two elections because they put up this cat. What a joke.

I don't totally id with the "right" and not totally with the "left". I lean more economically right, and socially left if that makes sense.

People vote their wallets.

What happens in July of 2017 means little if people have a good paying job.

Truman installed a bowling alley.

Carter tried solar panels.

Trump is fully invested in a revolving door.
