Using todays moral standards of course.....

Times were a bit different in the south in the 70's. Now I don't agree with it and if I were lucky enough to have a daughter I would never want her dating someone that much older than her when she was a teenager. However, to act like time period context doesn't matter is a bit off IMO.

Yeah, he only specifically denied the potentially criminal accusations (sex crimes, alcohol) and kinda swerved around everything else.

It wouldn't be hard for Trump to say to reporters, "This meeting with Putin wasn't about my amazing and historic defeat of Hillary Clinton. We had plenty of other things to talk about."

But the fact that Trump still chooses to talk about it may show he feels the noose tightening.

So does that mean China is going to be the world police now and get their soldiers killed? Atleast with China they don't pretend to be a free country.

Well, that's a universal problem, especially in discussions of Southern culture or exculpatory "things were different then" takes on American history.
 
In the early 70's when I first moved south a former Fla Highway Patrolman I was doing work for drove me around to show me trees where over his career he had cut down lynched "Negroes"
Could never tell whether he was warning me or condemning lynching. It was weird

Yes, a different time would be one way to put it
