The Trump Presidency

One of the great truths of politics is whatever dirty tactics someone comes up with, whatever powers someone amasses, whatever things someone gets away with, that's the floor for the next guy.

If you for one second believe the officials on your chosen side are somehow morally superior and wouldn't do the same things as the other side given the chance, you're lying to yourself.

Yep.

That's why the government keeps getting more powerful. More spending. More privacy invasion. etc.

We should have a heck of a time with the next president if Trump is the new floor. Instead of throwing starbursts, we’re now throwing stinkbombs at our political friends during meetings

Remember how being elite was bad?

Well, the orange dear leader is calling he and his followers the “super elite”

Seriously this country is so ****ing stupid right now. Can’t believe 100k people from 3 states allowed this to happen to our country

because RINo's and the mamby pamby wing of(D) say so ?

Remember 2010, it was the Tea Bag rallies where and when they referred to John Lewis as a ****** and (D) was flabbergasted . Instead of calling them the racist selfish/hording pigs they were and had been since 1968 that gave (R) the 2010 congress that allowed all of this

Remember in 2002-03 when siding with the anti war advocates over Iraq was considered "counter productive" ??

Remember 2016 when one candidate had the disqualifying email server on the advise the previous 2 Sec of State ?

No, if the fight is in the gutter, best get in the gutter

Let's be clear, there has never been a time in which the left failed to call someone a racist

Also, if Hillary Clinton had narrowly won WI/MI/PA instead of narrowly lost them,

Republicans would probably wind up with ~57-60 Senate seats next year instead

of the ~49-53 they'll probably end up with now.

That has big long-term implications for SCOTUS picks.

WASHINGTON — Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol, angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted "******" Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

The protesters also shouted obscenities at other members of the Congressional Black Caucus, lawmakers said.

"They were shouting, sort of harassing," Lewis said. "But, it's okay, I've faced this before. It reminded me of the 60s. It was a lot of downright hate and anger and people being downright mean."

Lewis said he was leaving the Cannon office building across from the Capitol when protesters shouted "Kill the bill, kill the bill," Lewis said.

more civility and lets not call them racists:

Speaking with senators and advisers in private, Trump recently has renewed his doubts about the legitimacy of former President Barack Obama's birth certificate, a New York Times report published Tuesday said. The baseless skepticism over Obama's citizenship is a conspiracy theory Trump has floated since long before his 2016 presidential campaign and helped the real-estate mogul and reality-TV star attract a political following.

Sarah Palin circa 2008 going rogue was actually her invoking wink and nod race :
-------------------------------

Ronald Reagan circa 1980, why did and what significance his announcement in Philadelphia, Miss ?
Perhaps that just happened to be where he was --- I getcha

..............................................................................................

so yeah, race does get invoked and stoking racial divide is and has been a one party endeaver.
Unless you hold that the voting rights act and other civil rights legislation of 50-60 years ago is "racist"
