I think it shows Trump's insecurity the same way his boasting does. A military parade is just the boastful action of a government who wants to "look" strong. I don't think it fools anyone these days. Except for Idiot Orange.

Do people actually think America doesn't show off its military might?

We do flyovers at sporting events. We have whole teams of elite pilots that tour the country performing in military jets at air shows. We have media blitzes whenever a new aircraft carrier is built. We literally show clips of bombs hitting targets on the news whenever we do take military action.

The parade is silly but it's kind of naive to think that we aren't already doing pretty much the same thing.
