The Trump Presidency

It's one thing to call Vietnam a stupid war, it's another to say anyone who went was a sucker.

Lot's of people were drafted and didn't have the luxury of their father's checkbook to bail them out.

You're projecting normal empathetic thoughts onto a psychopath. He only understands looking out for himself. He literally cannot comprehend people serving and dying for their country, e.g. his utter confusion at seeing scores of American graves in France. "Why did these people die here???"

It amazes me how anyone can support Trump. The only person he cares about in this world is himself. And to that extent, his bank account that he has so wonderfully, and fraudulently manipulated over the years. He’s a literal walking pile of ****. I wish I could say I feel sorry for any of his supporters, but they kind of deserve the **** storm coming to them. You don’t blindly follow a mad man and then wonder why the rug gets pulled out from you later.

Griffin was pretty careful to state which parts of the Atlantic story she was able to confirm. For doing her job, very poorly chosen one demands she be fired.

Because he loves the military so much, OO has been trying for a couple of years to close down The Stars and Stripes newspaper for servicemen and servicewomen. The reason is probably because they are an independent voice of the soldiers, and thus can't be controlled. But after this latest mess, the WH decided to let it remain running for now. Enough bad news for one week.

Finally getting to the root of the poison that has divided our country.

More of a landslide incoming as Biden has his staff call on pre selected reporters and meets with rabid bigots.

I wonder what OO would consider "the most salacious part" of that story.

You're like a drunk cheerleader.

He orders the Pentagon to shut it down and when they do, he changes his mind because he's now caught in this other "hoax". He really has no backbone or integrity at all. If he didn't say these things, is should act like it.

This tweet is amazing and shows where the democrats stand on the founding of America.

Go on the record or gtfo

This is just ignorant. It shows a lack of knowledge of the history and integrity of anonymous sources. And the reason they stay anonymous is to avoid retaliation.

If the job is done correctly, then the anonymity of sources matter? Was MArk Felt less reliable because he was anonymous?

President Trump’s longtime lawyer and personal fixer, Michael Cohen, alleges in a new book that Trump made “overt and covert attempts to get Russia to interfere in the 2016 election” and that the future commander in chief was also well aware of Cohen’s hush-money payoff to adult-film star Stormy Daniels during that campaign.

In the book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” which was obtained by The Washington Post ahead of its Tuesday publication date, Cohen lays out an alarming portrait of the constellation of characters orbiting around Trump, likening the arrangement to the mafia and calling himself “one of Trump’s bad guys.” He describes the president, meanwhile, as “a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man.”

On Russia, Cohen writes that the cause behind Trump’s admiration of Russian President Vladimir Putin is simpler than many of his critics assume. Above all, he writes, Trump loves money — and he wrongly identified Putin as “the richest man in the world by a multiple.”

Trump loved Putin, Cohen wrote, because the Russian leader had the ability “to take over an entire nation and run it like it was his personal company — like the Trump Organization, in fact.”

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany attacked Cohen’s credibility in a statement Saturday: “Michael Cohen is a disgraced felon and disbarred lawyer, who lied to Congress. He has lost all credibility, and it’s unsurprising to see his latest attempt to profit off of lies.”

According to Cohen, Trump’s sycophantic praise of the Russian leader during the 2016 campaign began as a way to suck up and ensure access to the oligarch’s money after he lost the election. But he claims Trump came to understand that Putin’s hatred of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, dating to her support for the 2011 protest movement in Russia, could also help Trump amass more power in the United States.

“What appeared to be collusion was really a confluence of shared interests in harming Hillary Clinton in any way possible, up to and including interfering in the American election — a subject that caused Trump precisely zero unease,” Cohen writes.
