There's probably a third party for you (especially if you're cajun)

I am a strong believer that the 2 party system is the single biggest problem with American Politics. I already voted Libertarian before Trump. I would have loved to vote for Jorgenson this time around. We need ranked choice voting so people arent forced to hold their nose and vote for the "viable" candidate because the other side is literally Hitler or Stalin.

I think the honest path to a third party is a socially liberal populist approach that hasn’t become a central message for either party. Combine some libertarian ideas like ending the war on drugs/victimless crimes and passing meaningful criminal justice reform with a focus on lifting people out of poverty and effective social safety nets. Demand that government spend less on Defense and more on our failing infrastructure. Push for term limits on all elected officials and to move back to legislating with all of Congress instead of the party elites so that the constituents can have something of a voice in the process. Focus on ways to improve the lives of those not just in dying industries like coal, but retail and food service workers. There’s an untapped market for populism. Donald Trump of all people helped prove that in 2016. We just need a coalition that is actually in favor of the **** Trump talked about like draining the swamp and fighting lobbyists.

i'd like to see a party that advocates a generous system of helping those who grow up disadvantaged (and we need to minimize using race or ethnicity as a proxy for this) so that they have as much of an opportunity as possible to move up the ladder...but also a party that recognizes that some of the most important institutions for helping people (education, medical care, police) have been more or less captured by the public sector unions and other stakeholders and don't really work for society as much as they work for the stakeholders...those stakeholders (teachers, police, doctors) are deserving of admiration as individuals but for the most part put their interests first...they are very powerful special interests and no one wants to take them on...it is idealistic but there should be a party that puts the broader public interest above those special interests
