Things They Say

"Julian Assange, along with the whistleblowers who reveal to us the evil that is being done in our name are heroes. They deserve our respect and admiration, not a prison cell"

"When 14-year-old Irma Perez of Belmont, California, took a single ecstasy pill one evening last April, she had no idea she would become one of the 26,000 people who die every year from drugs. Irma took ecstasy with two of her 14-year-old friends in her home. Soon after taking the tiny blue pill, Irma complained of feeling awful and said she felt like she was 'going to die.' Instead of seeking medical care, her friends called the 17-year-old dealer who supplied the pills and asked for advice.

The friends tried to get Irma to smoke marijuana, but when she couldn't because she was vomiting and lapsing into a coma, they stuffed marijuana leaves into her mouth because, according to news sources, 'they knew that drug is sometimes used to treat cancer patients."

Irma Perez died from taking ecstasy, but compounding that tragedy was the deadly decision to use marijuana to 'treat' her instead of making what could have been a lifesaving call to 911. Irma was a victim of our society's stunning misinformation about marijuana-a society that has come to believe that marijuana use is not only an individual's free choice but also is good medicine, a cure-all for a variety of ills."

Man, the news today is so 1990s,

from Hillary Clinton's editorial to

Biden's presidential announcement.

“I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage. That’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way I believe,” he said. “I have black friends, I hired black people. But when it comes to all this stuff you see on TV, when you see blacks and whites together, it makes my blood boil because that’s just not the way a Christian is supposed to live.”

using christianity to support blatant racism..why am i surprised?
which bible verse is that again?

my "freedom of religion" trumps your freedom to be treated as an equal*

(*if that religion is christianity of course)

Well its kinda equal because everyone would be limited to dating within their race. This **** is really a mental illness that goes undiagnosed because we as a society deem it normal to believe in a magic man in the sky who wants you to enforce his arbitrary rules with hate and violence.

na we can't dismiss this by saying it's a mental illness thing. it's simply taught and learned racism, and it's still extremely common in america today. lots of people would rather pretend it isn't common, or deny it while knowing it actually is (but they support it, so why speak out?).

it's why it's insane to me that someone will say or do a pretty clearly racist thing, get called on it, then you have tons of people (people here included) saying "not everything is racist, this person isn't racist, i'm not racist." why is it SO hard to believe? we see examples constantly. we know older people who had racist, segregation-supporting parents often still have some semblance of racism in them. but so many want to pretend we're actually all mostly treated the same by everybody. it's absolute bull****.

here's another one:

http://www.fox26houston.com/home/couple-helpless-after-being-harassed-by-racist-neighbor

again, wonder who that guys supports?
why do all of the outspoken, loud racists/nazis strongly support the same person? what are they perceiving in that person?
but it's ridiculous to call that person racist? if you're cripplingly naive or deliberately obtuse, maybe.

the "individual freedom" crowd is mostly mum on this type of stuff. it's almost as if that isn't what they actually care about.
