I remember their first season stateside, they both did well in the GCL. Both got promoted to the Appy League as 17 year olds that year. And at that point their hitting results started to diverge. And it has continued to diverge.

He's playing 3B now after his SS stint so he may still be salvaged. He used to be so highly thought of....he works hard. Just hasn't shown.

The interesting part too is that when Cruz and Pache first came over the were essentially taught the same thing: hit the ball hard on the ground and use the speed to get on. Cruz did it ok at first. He had a lot thrown at him and didn't adjust like Pache did. He's athletic to be sure but just hasn't put it together. It all affected even his defense. Hope he figure it out. Not sure he will though.

He looked completely lost at the end of last year. It was startling to see how far he had regressed.
