Rumbling is that Zimmermann was jump-bumped from Rome to Mississippi? Any confirmation on that, rico43?

If true, it’s an interesting decision—though not necessarily unmerited, given his age and performance. I’d been clamouring for his promotion, but I was thinking up one level, not two.

Talking Chop has a decent article about the log jam in the minors. Basically concluded the Braves have to make some trades to free up some spots down there for promotions and the influx of new guys.

The problem there is, which ones?

As much as Beane loves getting close-to-ready guys in his returns, has Oakland become AA's best trade partner? Lowrie and Treinen would be great fits since they're only due aless than $5 million (combined) the rest of the way - but just how much might Alex be willing to give up to get them?

TC doesn't ever write decent articles. They are nothing more than a content accumulation site. Other than Ivan, they are barely more competent than clvderpclv and his bonehead blog.

There is no "log jam", and simply listing a bunch of names (a favorite tactic around these parts) doesn't change that fact. All the pitchers that matter are getting plenty of innings. The rest are nothing more than organizational filler that are filling spots perfectly adequately. Those fillers will have almost no trade value, so the options to clear the so called "log jam" are extremely limited.

We can start talking about a "log jam" when the Braves actually start losing players to the R5 draft.

That should be Alexander's last game in the GCL. Let one of the youngsters take those ABs down there. This guy is too advanced!

Could also go with the two starters per game strategy or increase rotation size a little.

It really is a shame how has happened to TC. They used to produce decent stuff at least.

Speaking of log jams, the TC guy who gave CJ Alexander all those ridiculous tool grades was saying today that they have a log jam and can’t promote him to Danville because that team has their 10th rounder (who signed for pennies), their 25th rounder and a late round pick from two years ago who all are splitting time at third. So CJ Alexander has the tools of a top 100 prospect but can’t be promoted because of all three of those guys.

This is the insane homerism that is writing for that site.

Just waiting for the article signed "Encheff" - going to refinance my house to pay for the subscription to get that one.

Acuna recall confirmed. Wisler back. Another move expected as McCarthy goes onto DL.

For whatever it's worth, Bowman thinks its Fried Saturday.

It's kind of sad that long man insurance is "needed" for Teheran starts.

Not just Julio. It seems it's been that way for most of our starters the past week. Plus the extra innings games recently have kind of wrecked our pen. I think this is really more insurance against that.
