I keep seeing Braxton Davidson hitting homeruns and think, this dude is finally figuring some things out. Then I also see that he has 121 Ks (42%) and his hitting under .175 so yeah.......

Interesting move -- Miguel Jerez is starting at High A Florida tonight. He was the most interesting arm on the GCL team -- 14 IP, 11 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 13 K. Had good numbers at GCL last year, too. Kind of surprised to see him moved up this fast, but it's probably just an emergency, one-start deal.

It's interesting how our farm depth and talent doesn't translate to wins. But when I see the pitching lines here every night, I note that so many of great starts are ruined by completely awful relief pitching. I'm guessing Gwinnett has the worst relief staff in the IL.

Yeah, likely a one start deal as the squads are basically in the same.

Good chance for Jerez though.

Austin Riley out after six innings. 1-3 with a single, ground out and strikeout.

Would be nice to see a strong 6-7 weeks in AAA from him to end the season.

Main thing I'm looking for is the K rate getting below 25%. We have to hope the 33% K rate so far in AAA was due to the injury.

I want to be able to project Riley for a .250/.320/.430 line going into 2019, probably after spending 2-3 weeks in AAA to start the season.

Camargo wants to know where you're projecting Riley...

Camargo (441 PA career) = .281/.346/.456
Babip = .283
fWAR = 2.7

Davidson was epically bad in April and May. But he hit .262 with 8 HRs in June. Still a ton of Ks though.

Touki just turned 22. He’s a pitcher with only so many bullets in the gun. We’d have him for almost his entire twenties

I’d bring him up with roster expansion for the pen

Then next year make him the fifth starter and keep him in aaa for a turn or two to get one more year
