One interesting FCL note - looks like Darling Florentino has transitioned to a pitcher. He was the opening day 3B in Low A in 2019 and was pretty young.

I saw that as well. He must be a pretty decent athlete because they brought him stateside right after signing him as opposed to having him play in the DSL. Hope he pitches better than he hit.

Touki doing his best Spencer Strider impression.

I see former Braves' prospects Ryan Weber and Matt Lipka are playing for Nashville tonight.

Weber got knocked around pretty good tonight. One could say that Weber couldn't scorch the meat of the Gwinnett order.

Yep. Surprised Lipka is doing decent.. 318 3 HR 27RBI. I think Joey Terdo was in that draft. Salcedo was our disaster of a "first" as an international FA.

Franklin (or, if you prefer, Franklin V) really is starting to look like something special. So does Langeliers, who should be a Futures Game instead of Waters. But I think we expected it of him)

The Braves have really pushed Jefrey Ramos and he's probably a level higher than he should be at Mississippi. He's having a tough season and it's nice to see that he comes up with a big hit every now and then. He's been considered a bit of a fringe prospect ever since he hit full-season ball, but the Braves must think something of him if they keep moving him up.

I will always believe in Touki and Kyle Wright.

Of course, Touki in the BP. Yes, please.
If Touki could harness his repertoire he would be a helluva 3-4 starter. Since we've seen he's best two times up and down the lineup at best, reliever will probably be his niche.

If they make that decision...leave him alone. Either way. Don't yo-yo his role. He's shown that it is not in his best interest to bounce around. I'm still a big believer in him and Pache. Perhaps I'm crazy.

Neither have had a ton of chances but losing faith in Pache at this point is a bit silly.

Here are some news stories about two of the undrafted free agent signings I was surprised to see after last year's draft. Workinger was in JC ball in California and Barranca had just finished high school. Given the bonus limit of $20,000 for non-drafted players, I thought for sure that players either in JC ball or high school would not have gone pro and instead waited for a year when the bonus structure was a bit more lucrative. Both of these guys would probably have been drafted in a normal year. Maybe they got a tricked-out pick-up truck in addition to a signing bonus. It's worked before.

Obviously candidates to sign below-market FA deals 8 years from now - they REALLY wanted to be Braves!!! LOL
