THURSDAY MINORS FINAL 8/12/21; Cusick delivers in debut

Gameday does not explain how Mississippi's winning run scored (help?). In bottom of ninth, Alexander walks, steals second, goes to third on Rijo fly ball and ... what? There was no error given, Rijo wasn't credited with a sacrifice fly. Play-by-play says "Rijo flies out, pitcher Braden Webb to first baseman Thomas Dillard. CJ Alexander scores."
I dunno. Am curious, though.

FCL rained out again, and there's a tropical storm with a bunch of rain also heading their way.

Looking at that Mississippi team, I am a bit baffled as to how they are in first place. A couple of our top-drawer prospects, but little else in terms of projection.

Mississippi is a winners' state. Geography is all they need to be in 1st place

Can't help but wonder if this puts the farm system structure on the table in the upcoming CBA talks. In terms of getting the kids in the Florida-based camps playing time, this year has been a disaster.

Cusick with 5 Ks through 2, only given up an infield single. Touched 100, apparently showing a new slider that’s 89 and got at least one K on.

Sounds like his FB sat around 97.

Braves focus on college might jump start the system a little bit as they fill in.
